Why would we want Steve Showalter? The guy has highly negative views of UWM, and it had nothing to do with his friend Jeter. Jordan needs people who will hit the road recruiting.

Not my first choice, but I am okay with it and think he can, and will be successful here. The fact that he almost got the Butler job, and most of the Michigan board thinks he'll be headed back there to replace Beilein in a couple years speaks volumes.

I want him to succeed. I hope that he succeeds. I'm looking forward to hearing him talk about his philosophy on recruiting, pace, defense, etc. I take whatever people from Michigan say with a grain of salt, however; what college ever said an assistant who got hired as a head coach wasn't ready or woudln't be any good. Of course they'll sing his accolades.
When's the press conference?

I'm guessing they have to wait for either the contract to be signed and/or approved by the BoR. At least the former for an announcement.
