I've had a couple coaches approach me privately online and tell me that Parker Search is giving them mixed messages. Someone should pass along to Parker Search that they should probably clarify things for these guys.

Some moron on Twitter thinks Wichmann and his 5 ppg will end up playing for the Badgers. Yeah, okay. I must be that idiot you are referring to? If so I didn't say he will end up playing for them. But if you don't think a guy that shoots 47.7% from 3 and will be available right away is good enough to be given a look by UW (even if off the bench) then you're not only a dick but you're wrong. Aside from Koenig, Vitto Brown was their best shooter from 3 at 40.0%. And don't tell me that Wichmann wouldn't be a huge upgrade from Showalter. So to say that he isn't good enough to play for UW is selling him way short. If not for Austin being given significant minutes this year, Cody would have had much more impressive numbers. The guy can shoot at a high major level. Especially if someone like Zac Showalter can average 31 minutes per game. You remind me a lot of a Marquette fan I know that laughed when Braun added MU to the list of schools they can't transfer to saying that no one was good enough to play in the Big East. Well, Akeem is getting looks from Creighton and Butler... So obviously neither one of you know sh*t. I guess there are at least two morons who think Cody Wichamnn should at least "get a look" at a top-10 or 15 program. The guy couldn't start for a 10-8 Horizon league team but could get run at Madison? Maybe you can explain why he only averaged 15 min/game despite his 3-point shooting prowess; Jeter should have been fired for not putting such a weapon out on the floor more often. Furthermore, comparing Wichmann's game to what Showalter brings to the table just shows how out of your depth you are in this discussion. But please, continue by calling me a "dick" one more time. It's really working for you.

Reiterate, reiterate, reiterate, given the status of this program and the damage done by previous and current administrations that have alienated fans, student and alumni, the pick of the next coach at UWM is the most important decision to be made. That person must be experienced, dedicated, and willing to commit to excellence. The Student athlete must graduate and become productive alumni to continue that pattern of excellence . Winning will come. Championships will come. So reiterate and reiterate and keep an open mind as to what college sport is, because it is just sport. I hope Braun and the Administration make a wise choice. These will be my last words on this site. Farewell.

There are no more NBA caliber players on that team. And the fact that Showalter averaged 35 minutes per game shows that. I see what Showalter brings to the table and sorry but I'm not impressed. You're entitled to your own opinion on Cody. It's obvious you have a grudge against the guy for some reason. So continue to think teams won't be interested in him. Thankfully you're not a coach. Just a dick. And I'm no coach either. Just a moron.

Correct, I would add to post as if you are talking to someone face to face.

My apologies. I'll blame it on the never ending stress of being a Panthers fan. I get defensive of the players on this team because they're all great guys that got the shaft from their AD. And because of that, everyone is judging them for doing what's in their best interest by testing the waters elsewhere. It shouldn't even be a conversation we're having based on how close this group of players are.
It's just frustrating to see all the good people go (coaches and players) while the real cancer of the athletics department is just sitting back with her feet up collecting her $200K+ salary.
We can have different opinions without the name calling and arguing. Sorry for my part in it. Let's all get along.

The Search and Screen Committee has several people I trust to make the next hire.
Then again, I thought the committee that picked Koonce - including me, Jeter, David Nicholas, Eric Becker and more - was well put together too.

It's obvious to anyone with basketball acumen Cody can't guard. In the Big Ten? No way.

Kaylon Williams @kwill2332 @pantheru both good picks, I'm just more familiar with Jordan. He'd definitely get the job done.
Talking about Tracy Webster and Lavall Jordan.

Also saw keem say Tracy was the first coach to ever call him. If he gets hired maybe their past relationship could help keep him here?

I'm not so sure how many players are leaving after they meet the new coach. I could see them all staying.
