I'm guessing the new coach will be introduced Thursday. That would be the media-savvy thing to do; gives the SSC time to deliberate, and Friday wouldn't draw enough eyes; people don't watch the news on Friday or read the paper on Saturday.
I think Braun will make a good hire. Why? Because none of the people reportedly interviewing with her are bad.

SDSU seems to be in a more stable position and is closer to his current home. I would imagine Milwaukee could offer more money. We might not be able to afford something much greater, barring outside perks/compensation. |

Has Lena Taylor been briefed? Give Lena all the grief you want, but she has long been the most involved politician alum in our program. Also, while Amanda is certainly not racist, this is the kind of criticism she opened herself up to by employing only one black person on the staff (DeeDee will be gone at the end of her contract this summer). Probably true but she's being a politician and as a result, she's going to make it appear she's speaking up for the supporters of Jeter who she feels she will need their votes one day. She definately spoke out of turn by making such accusations; however, I'd be willing to bet if you pulled her to a side in a moment of honesty, she wants what's best for the University. If that means it's getting rid of Jeter, she would support but considering she's more concerned with playing "politics" she's going to say what she "thinks" the people want to hear. If the community was supportive of Jeter being fired, I'd bet you she would not have said a WORD. That's why I don't take anything she said to heart. |

If Lena wants to help, she'll get the practice facility funding passed in next year's budget. Save the publicity stunts for far more meaningful issues.

I'm starting to believe the Webster hype was just that hype. These other reports for all the other coaches have ended up in hiring and nothing has occurred on the front of Webster yet. Which makes me believe it's probably not Webster. I'd prefer Webster but if it were, there would have been atleast one report out that they've met with him and I don't believe they have. |
