Good luck to Austin wherever he ends up. I for one will not miss him.

Best of luck to Austin. While he certainly did not have the type of season we all hoped for him to have.m. He definitely gave us some great memories in 2014.

Maybe he knew that the new coach wouldn't have such a long leash?? Hopefully we'll see Cody finally get the playing time he deserves.
In all seriousness, best of luck to Austin. Despite the bad year he had, he was fun to watch. Was really looking forward to great things from him in his last year. Hopefully he rediscovers his stroke wherever he ends up.

Great kid who still has a big upside from a great family and the reaction is "good riddance?"
The plan is working. We'll be reapplying to the WIAC soon.

I wish Austin all the best in his future endeavors. It's sad to see kids put in such a tough spot. Each of them has to now do what is best for them, and I respect whatever decision they make.

Things are tough, it's a part of life. No, everything is supposed to go as planned and promised. There is no room for disappointment.

Austin, specifically, was one of the players that sacrificed quite a bit to stick around through the APR ban. He had a pretty huge offer from a pretty great team in spring 2014, and he was able to transfer and play immediately. He chose not to, even though it was a plug-and-play situation on a high-major with a high upside.
I'm not concerned with the step back in his game that happened this season. He is still a good kid who, like every player, is a work in progress. He didn't deserve this abandonment by the athletic director.
I hope everything works out for Austin. He's a good kid that deserves everything in the world. What a sh*tty way to learn life isn't fair.

Catch ya down the road Austin, you dazzled us, and frustrated us, but such is the life of a fan.
Best of luck where you end up.

Great kid who still has a big upside from a great family and the reaction is "good riddance?" No one said anything about him personally in any regard but if you don't think he notably contributed to our fifth place finish, I'd advise you go back and watch the conference games again. I wish him the best and thank him for staying through the ban.

Jordan Johnson was granted his release.
Might need to change the title of this thread to not be specific to Austin since there will be more to come.
I'm not totally familiar with how this works. A player asks for his release so that teams can contact him, right? Doesn't necessarily mean they are out the door?

I appreciate Austin Arians efforts and contributions to the program and I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.
It is hard to ignore that his play left a lot to be desired. He was a defensive liability who lacked lateral quickness, and was a streaky three point shooter with questionable shot selection.
