Interesting article by Pat Forde of yahoo sports. While he gives two examples of larger programs, I think it relates to our situation as well.

The last sentence says it all, "But sometime jobs just end, and the coach or school have to try something new even with full awareness that it might not be as good as before. Occasionally, it's just time."

Exactly how I feel... It is what it is so lets move on and see what happens.

Have any donors tried sitting down with Mone about their concerns/issues with Braun? Considering he's apparently going to start taking more of an interest in athletics dept, is it reasonable to assume his current understanding of the landscape is lacking? I'm sure he knows that losing donors isn't good but does he understand it's impact? As we've seen from previous administrations, there's no reason to simply assume Mone understands the issues at hand.

I understand that sentiment, but would this amorphous reason be sufficient to blow up the program now when this would have happened in due course next year anyway?

There are many of us who believe, based on our first hand observation, that the administration did not fear that next year would be "mediocre." That was not the fear at all.
