Can I take this bet? I'll buy you popcorn and a beer at the home opener next year if they make it that far. BET IS OFF!!! Now that Bo has retired the premise for the bet is gone, so no bet. But don't worry FTA -- happy to buy you a beer and popcorn anyway at any Milwaukee game of your choice. You should have taken the bet, Fran.

Bucky just punched its dance ticket by beating Iowa. that 3 Top 10 wins for them this year- MSU(#4 at the time) , #2 maryland (AT Maryland) and now #8 Iowa at Iowa. they're in, for the 18th straight year.

And this, in my opinion, becomes the best regular-season NON-CONFERENCE victory in school history.
I think that a handful of wins over ranked Butler teams are still above it.

You should have taken the bet, Fran. It was based on Bo Ryan's coaching, not the second coming of Gregg Popovich, Greg Gard From what little i have heard from him and about him, Greg Gard sounds like a decent guy. So we probably won't be referring to him on this board as the PMGP.

Gard is basically taking the decision away from Barry, which probably irritates the hell out of "the Emperor." Personally, I love it. I knew Gard would be a terrific coach but what has really impressed me is that he has totally been his own man. He has allowed players to play through mistakes more than Bo did and he's willing to go deep into the bench. That is going to pay big dividends for him on the recruiting trail. Not that I think it will happen, but with three games to go they are technically still in the race for the title. That is amazing after a 1-4 conference start. My dream scenario, of course, is a Sweet 16 match between the Panthers and Badgers.

... My dream scenario, of course, is a Sweet 16 match between the Panthers and Badgers. Fran, having moved from Milwaukee to the Phoenix area last month, my dream scenario is Milwaukee at Grand Canyon University in the CIT, so I can see the Panthers play in person one more time this year! I know, I know, this is very selfish on my part. However, it is a much more likely scenario, as GCU head coach Dan Majerle has already confirmed GCU will be in the CIT and host at least two games, if they make it that far. As for the Panthers, most likely they are CIT bound as well, although I will be cheering them on from afar to pull off the rather unlikely four game sweep in four days at the Joe.

"Cactus Panther" -- love it!
Say hello to Mrs. Cactus for all of us too! And if we don't roar through "Motor City Malaise" I hope you get your wish, CP.

At the time when we beat Wisky, they looked like they were going nowhere. remarkable turnaround to keep the NCAA and top 4 in league streaks alive. While they have gotten stronger in conference, we've floundered. 9-7 is middling by anyones definition. Our win over them is getting stronger and stronger with each passing game, but the only way to join Bucky in the dance is to pull a 2014.

Not my Xavier -4 wager, not the 10 WI fans jumping up and down in my living room. Just BBFran. Nice call. We can figure it out next year WHEN you renew
