By the way, I don't think this loss exactly brings the UW program to its knees. It will survive. You wouldn't know it by listening or reading what some of them are saying. Man, what a spoiled fan base some of them are.

Watched the game for the 3rd time last night.
If we happen to get down by 10 in another game this year, I'm not too worried. I believe we will come back. But more importantly the players know they can do it. The team never gave up and they never looked rattled.
This team has what it takes and looks to be special. Our offense can come from any of 4, 5, 6 different guys. They play solid D. And, wait for it, can actually make their free throws!
Prahl. Someone posted during the game he should be taken out. That the game was too fast for him. "Yeah, I'm going to have to sort-of, disagree with you there." He didn't do much that showed up in the boxscore, but he put in some quality minutes on the defensive end. He was solid and strong on D for all but a play or two. Hopefully the confidence he gained in this one will carry over.
Austin. I don't care if he has to take 30 3's against Judson. Do whatever it takes for him to get his shot back. Could have won this one by 10+ if he was his usual self.
Both fouls on Akeem in 1st half were garbage calls. As was the one in the 2nd half by the way.
Jordy. Even if his ankle is okay. I don't know if I'd play him more than 5 or 10 minutes if at all against Judson. He's much too valuable to this team down the road to take any chances against a team we should beat by 30 or more. Perfect game for JayQuan and Brock to split the PG duties.

Every fan base is like this once they taste success. There's a sense of entitlement that it should never end, and no sense of objectivity if it does, even temporarily. I give you as evidence MU's fans after the Al McGuire era -- and ours as of about 2007.
It's just the nature of fans.
Anyway, I agree with dylan; what I see in Wisconsin is a team that will probably be playing in the third round of the NCAA this year, if not the second weekend. Makes me even prouder that our guys beat them at their own game on their own court.
Now let's carry this nice little non-con win into the part of our schedule that really matters. Are you paying attention, Valpo?

Sure -- bet taken for beer and popcorn. This reminds me of the definition of insanity attributed to Albert Einstein (perhaps apocryphally): "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result." So in the spirit of Einstein I'll put this in the form of an equation: B +(T)= N. (Bo Ryan plus Talent equals the Ncaa tournament. )

I know it's #BadgerHateWeek for some of you, but if you really care about Milwaukee, you're rooting for UW on Saturday and the rest of the season ... if you want to be in play for a potential at-large. I think the at-large ship sailed once we failed to pick up quality victories in Florida. It's not that we would have a bad record - we could have had 5-7 losses and still been in the conversation - but we don't have enough opportunities for more quality victories the rest of the season. Two victories over Valpo would be quality, but we'd also be dropping their RPI a little bit with each W. Wisconsin will finish better than 94, not just because they'll get the Big Ten boost but also because Bo Ryan isn't going to let one of his teams finish below 6th in the B1G. South Dakota is a good team and their RPI would give us a quality victory today, but playing in the Summit will drop them eventually. The good news is that the Summit is having its best year ever by a country mile, so the drop might not be as much. I still don't expect them to finish top 100. We need HL schools to do well too. Oakland will rise as Colorado State and SIU get boosts from their conference games. Valpo will come to earth, but our best bet is that they continue to win, just not against us. There's no margin for error. We could win out and end with four losses and still not get in. None of us expect that (I personally expect 7-9 losses by the end of the HLT) but there just may not be enough opportunities for quality W's for the rest of the year.

Well this is certainly cause for celebration. I haven't logged in here in years, although I lurk to keep up to date with where the program is throughout the season and recruitment. In fact, didn't remember my login name or email address I logged in with back in the day so had to re-register. But I can't stop thinking about 92, traveling to Mad-town for the game, losing voice, staying in some shoddy hotel on State St and dancing to Head Like a Hole by NIN after the game - until someone from State St threw a snowball in our window. And that Badger team had some talent on it too! Congrats Coach Jeter and the boys, as well as the fans that are far less fair weather than myself. This is a well-deserved win for all involved! Don't be a stranger, buddy - we need everyone to start coming back if we're going to build momentum!

I sure would love a win at Minnesota! Considering they just got swept by the South Dakota schools I think we have a good shot. Both South Dakota schools are pretty damn good this year. I'm not looking past USD to Minnesota.

I've never claimed to be "in the know" like others try to be, so I'm not going to speculate on an perceived drama within the department. Rob has assembled a great team this year and it's going to be fun watching it unfold the next couple months. Ouch, that stings

So in the spirit of Einstein I'll put this in the form of an equation: B +(T)= N. (Bo Ryan plus Talent equals the Ncaa tournament. ) The 3rd round is now the 2nd weekend as the NCAA no longer calls the first 4 the first round. So basically WI has to get to the Sweet 16 for you to win.

I'm more confident in Vito Brown, Showalter and their lack of bench being the difference maker. Those guy are bench players not 25+ minute per night guys.

Well you have the advantage of me since I didn't know the NCAA has renamed the rounds, but so be it. I'll give you a double or nothing counter: two beers and popcorns (or none) that the Badgers go deeper in the tournament than Valpo.
