I'll echo many of the same comments of others who have posted regarding this loss.
I refuse to attend another game or watch another game while Rob Jeter is our coach. Last night did it for me.
I have been a Panther fan for 15 years and will remain one under protest but I can't support this team under Jeter's leadership--I tried so hard like many on this forum and last night was the final straw.

This is the worst loss in the history of the program. I'd say that the worse loss occurred in March, 2004 to the very same team on the very same floor under far more important circumstances and was followed closely by the heart-sickening 70-69 loss at the RCA Dome to Notre Dame. This was just yet another gong game during the Jeter Era. Could it be the last? I would not say losing in the NCAA Tourney is the worse loss. I was at that game. I'm sure many on here was as well. I felt after the loss to Notre Dame, heartbroken, thinking what could've been, proud of the team, pride for the black & gold. I had none of those feeling after last night. It was more like, why did I come out in bitter cold weather, sick, embarrassed, angry, pissed-off at the coaches and players!

Jimmy is still obviously passionate about the program. I no longer am. I'm interested, but now I'm mostly numb. Like many others, I favor the ouster of Rob Jeter (sorry, but if record doesn't matter, they would neither put up a scoreboard nor pay the head coach upwards of a half-million dollars or more). Having said that, before I give one dime toward the hiring of the next head coach, I want to know who's doing the hiring and how the hiring is being done. Please no dog-and-pony shows in front of an eight-member board of exclusively faculty members. Unlike with the hiring of the school's athletics administrator, I want people with a vested interest in the men's basketball program making the decisions. Start, for instance, with David Nicholas and David Gruber and maybe bring Harris Turer back to the fold.

Absolutely agree with Dylan. The process for hiring the next coach should involve input from the likes of Gruber and Nicholas, money guys who actually care deeply about the program and understand the game of basketball.
Whatever list is constructed for new coaching candidates must not include Greg Gard or any other of Bo Ryan's assistants. This program is in desperate need of a new philosophy and a guy who can SELL a program. Unfortunately, this is at least two years away from occurring. That's plenty of time for whatever loyal alumni base is left to dwindle even more. Time is perhaps the most important commodity we adults (especially those married with kids) have and, candidly, spending a Saturday night watching Cleveland St. bludgeon this team on its home floor in early January was the last straw for me. I have 't been to a game since and won't go again until there is a coaching change. What's the point?

At least Amanda Braun & Company can't take the undeserved blame for that one. Who do you blame for this embarrassment? Surely it can't be the players and coaches.
It's laughable to think the administration sabotaged the season with Aaron's "excessive" suspension. If anything, it shows that previous suspensions for similar offenses were too lenient.
I'm happy we now have administration in place who holds people accountable for doing stupid sh*t.

I'm still unsure exactly how much Mike Lovell cares about men's basketball, apart from running The Hill with the team. Let's hope he makes decisions that move this program forward in a year or two.

did they reveal what Aaron was suspended for? "violating team rules' is a catch-all that can mean just about anything. not that not having him would have made much difference last night.

I'm happy we now have administration in place who holds people accountable for doing stupid sh*t. At this point, there's whole mess of accountability to be held.

Honest question here as someone who is somewhat detached from the program now, what can Mike Lovell do right now to show he "cares" about men's basketball? Get the separate practice facility built?

To clarify my point on the post, a suspension was to be had. But you don't win brownie points for acting on some higher plain of moral authority, otherwise Jeter would have a whole mess of brownie points for running a clean program.

"The look in their eyes, there was nothing there." I can't believe in what I heard. Coming in losing three in a row, how do you play flat? Nothing in their eyes? Where is the self respect as a D1 player and for being a man?

As I sat in my seat prior to the game starting last night I couldn't help but remember the Cell full to capacity back in the day. I like Jeter, I like his family, I liked talking to his Dad and Father-in-law, so part of me feels guilty wishing for a coaching change. I thought after the last GB game things were turned around, but it hurts to be let down again. I don't need a winning team, just a competitive and entertaining team. There's something about hiring a coach that has never had a head coaching position in any division. Perhaps he just wasn't ready for division 1. I will, however, continue to support all UWM sports teams.
