Yes, please. Go Rob, far, far away from our basketball team. Please Rob resign. Enough is enough. Have some pride. Take your millions that you have milked from this university and go "coach" the Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks or somewhere, anywhere but here. I have been two one game in the last two years. I used to have season tickets, go to road games, attend pep rallies (remember those?), and contribute to the athletic department. I will do so once again when we finally get a new coach.

Along with the Packers winning Super Bowls XXX1 and XLV and maybe the World Series of 1982 (I was too young to fully appreciate Marquette's 1977 national championship), the NCAA tournament wins over Alabama, Boston College and Oklahoma were the greatest sports memories of my life. Alabama was perhaps the highest peak because I was on hand, standing and cheering the entire game.
I don't see the point of having a program if we're never going to experience this again.

Raise my Expectations? I don't have any particular expectations for UWM Basketball. Exactly. And that's the problem. But just so you know, almost everyone here besides yourself DOES.

AND I could care less if UWM EVER goes dancing again. That's easily the most pathetic comment I've ever read on this board. Yes, it really is. But one must consider the source though, and what else he has said.

I'm not saying Rob Jeter is blameless. I'm saying this is a failure from the top office on down.
My post on PantherU literally featured the phrase "results that have never been worth the contract." Sound like I'm an apologist?
But it is wrong to say Jeter makes the most. Gary Waters makes more money.

One of the highlights of my week occured the same day as one of my lowlights. I received an email with the subject line "Jeter to Call it Quits in 2014". I was so happy that the nightmare of the Rob Jeter era would soon be over. I then opened the email only to see that the Jeter it referenced, was Derek and not Rob.
I know I am not the only one to not have gone to a game this year. No excitment whatsoever. To make things worse, listening to 620 a few days ago, they were speaking about Bo Ryan, Tom Crean, and Bruce Pearl. They mentioned how when things were not so bright, you could get each coach to come in for an interview. But when the teams started seeing success, only Bruce Pearl was the one that would on a continuous basis come to the studio, bring donuts, and still be the same guy from day one. Bo Ryan, a little more difficult, but still accessible. Tom Crean, a complete d-bag. What this program needs is for the head coach to be its biggest cheerleader. It is hard to be excited about a program, when it seems the coach is going through the motions. It is hard to get excited for a program, when year after year, there is a stretch when things are going well, and you think the team has turned the corner, and multiple games like UIC happen, and it appears that no one cares, and the head guy has given up.
As sad as I am to see the season go, I realize that a new beginning is right around the corner.

I had the same (albeit very momentary) reaction before coming to my senses. Mark Cuban, after recently attending an SMU game at Moody Coliseum, said something to the effect that getting a degree in sports management will get you a postgraduate job at Friday's. What the schools should be conferring is a degree in sales. Coaching is a four-month occupation, but selling your program is a year-round undertaking. A famous former coach of ours told me so. That's exactly what we need. Not a guy who seems like he just rolled out of bed to make an appearance.

Never said anything about a buyout. Numbers don't lie. Actions speak loader then words. Great on the road against the conference leader GB. Get the s&*t kicked out of us by the conferences worst team, UIC. Come-on. You make $400k plus a year, we have the right to critique the guy who has completely fell short every year. Apology! Of course you have a right to critique Jeter. I've criticized some of his moves myself. But, buyout talk is rather common on this site. gotcha. no apology needed. I was just confused a bit. point taken.

I will say that I think we got our money's worth in 2010-11 by winning a title and losing in the title game to the national runner-up.
