Thurs. Jan. 30 WRIGHT STATE at Klotsche Center Sun. Feb. 2 OAKLAND likely at Klotsche Center For the love of God why would we have two games at KC??? Scheduling conflicts I'm assuming. The WCD would have been booking dates prior to us returning back to the Cell so I would imagine they couldn't move events scheduled for these days.

With Trinson White and McWhorter added to the team, I don't see how we could finish under 500, given this schedule. You don't?

Is there any question? My experience is to expect the worst and then be pleasantly surprised if the outcome is better. It feels like winning the super bowl when you expect 2 wins and then end the season with 8. But, why get depressed thinking about basketball? We're undefeated in a different sport! So far, both Lindy's and The Sporting News expect the Panthers to finish dead last in the conference.
Please don't get your hopes out of whack ... only to have them dashed by an underperforming program.
It's much better to start out with somewhat conservative expectations ... like 11 or 12 wins.

At best, I'm hoping for 14-17 wins. Modestly, I'm thinking 10-13.

College basketball pre-season rankings are a joke. I really don't think Lindy's or the Sporting News puts any stock in the Horizon League.

Home games with DePaul and Northern Iowa along with road contests at Wisconsin and Davidson highlight the 2013-14 University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball schedule, released today by head coach Rob Jeter. The schedule includes nine regular season contests plus an exhibition game at the U.S. Cellular Arena, which the Panthers will again call home for the next five seasons. Three games this season will be played at the on-campus Klotsche Center due to scheduling conflicts. Other notable dates on the Panther slate include a Nov. 16 contest against NCAA qualifier James Madison in DeKalb, Ill., and a Dec. 21 matchup in New Orleans against Northeastern, which won the regular season Colonial Athletic Association title a year ago and played in the NIT. "What I like is that we get to play in some very tough venues on the road but we also get a Big East team at home," Jeter said. "We also have some really tough mid-major opponents and we have some neutral site games with teams like us that really give you the chance to see where you are. I really like the mix of our schedule." Milwaukee's first game back downtown comes during the exhibition season, when the Panthers play Marian Oct. 31. Then the regular-season return to the U.S. Cellular Arena comes Nov. 19 when DePaul visits. "We're always looking at recruiting and how you're going to attract the next great player, and the venue downtown helps us with that. The history of the building downtown speaks for itself. I know we've had some special moments of our own down there," Jeter said. "Our team is excited about being in a place that has always been home for them. Our fans enjoy it. You put all of that together and it definitely adds a little bit of extra excitement to the beginning of the season." The Panthers start the regular season with five-straight games outside of Milwaukee. The opener will come against a familiar foe, as Milwaukee will make the short trip to the north side of Chicago for a contest with Loyola Nov. 8. The Ramblers left the Horizon League for the Missouri Valley Conference this summer. UWM then heads to North Carolina to face NCAA qualifier Davidson Nov. 11 in a rematch of a game the Panthers won in Milwaukee a season ago. The early-season slate continues with three games in DeKalb, Ill., at the Northern Illinois Tournament (Nov. 15-17), including contests against NIU, James Madison and San Jose State, before the Panthers come home to face DePaul. UWM then wraps up the first month of the season with a game at Tennessee Tech (Nov. 23), a home contest with Judson (Nov. 26) and a game at UMKC (Nov. 30). Milwaukee's December opens with two more home games against Missouri Valley Conference foes, as Northern Iowa comes to the U.S. Cellular Arena Dec. 3 before Bradley visits the Klotsche Center Dec. 7. UWM then wraps up the month with a game at Wisconsin Dec. 11 and contests in New Orleans against Northeastern and Alabama State Dec. 21-22. League play then begins with Youngstown State and Cleveland State visiting on the first weekend of January before Milwaukee makes its first-ever league trip to Oakland for a contest Jan. 8. The remainder of the January schedule includes a home game against Green Bay Jan. 12 and a Friday night (Jan. 24) home contest against Detroit. The months of January and February are then bridged by an on-campus homestand, as Wright State (Jan. 30) and Oakland (Feb. 2) will play the Panthers at the Klotsche Center. The rest of the February schedule includes a game at Green Bay Feb. 8 and home games downtown against Valparaiso (Feb. 15) and UIC (Feb. 25). grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/wiml/sports/m-baskbl/auto_pdf/2013-14/misc_non_event/1314mbbschedule.pdf

Wave schedule came out last night. They play on Dec 7th, so it pushes the Panther game versus Bradley to the KC.

College basketball pre-season rankings are a joke. I really don't think Lindy's or the Sporting News puts any stock in the Horizon League. The previews were written by Marc Katz of the Dayton Daily News and Elton Alexander of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, respectively. So it's not as if they were crafted by someone unfamiliar with the league.
