I think Jeter's issue is that he is not capable to making the transition from an assistant to head coach. As an assistant he was able to say and do things you just can as a head coach because players look at you different. This is not uncommon as I see it all the time in business where someone who is a great manager get promoted to director or vp and just can not get it done anymore. They hit their ceiling and you sometimes dont realize it until its too late and the promotion occured.
The one thing a friend of mine said to me was when Jeter was here under Bo the team came in at half and was playing like crap. Bo was trailing and before he got in Jeter got in a guys face and slammed him up into a locker basically telling him to get his head out of his a$$. The whole team settled down and no one said word. Bo walked in after and gave a short talk the team came back out and rallied to win the game. I think Jeter just never figured out make the transition. If you dont have the players respect and your not winning those types of actions just cause kids to quit on you and eventually leave which is exactly what has happned. Its sad to look at Lou's list and think about how excited we were to have almost everyone of those guys.

Having a head coaching candidate with a history of success, even if it was while coaching in d2 or d3, I think should be mandatory for the next coaching search. I griped quite a bit that we didn't do this the first time around when we hired Jeter.
"What about Brad Stevens?" I know this is going to come up, so I'll address it now. Obviously Butler had him internally and saw something special. I don't know if there is anyone internally who could be this guy for us. Chris Hill?

Chris Hill would be an interesting candidate. I could see him or maybe Sharif Chambless having success as head coaches in the future

Excellent! This sounds too well-organized to be true. Well organized my ass. It should have been promoted from Dy 1 of the season. Also, if not for a Twitter barrage, Coach Pearl wouldn't even have a presence at the event. If it were well organized, Bruce would've been invited months ago, not 2 weeks ago. He still might not make it due to studio duties earlier in the day. Personally, I can't wait to see him walk out on the Klotsche floor at halftime on the 9th.

Badgers host Michigan on the 9th, 11:00 AM game time on ESPN2. It would be kind of cool if ESPN had Pearl do something on site in Madison, and later in the day Pearl could head over to Milwaukee.

What I should have said is that this is a nice thought, which is several notches above what we've witnessed in the past. Yesterday, I was able to switch the day at work and so should be able to make it. It would have been a shame to miss it.

anyone know why Kyle Kelm hasn't been playing? Jeter basically said that Kelm is playing beyond soft and when he's in the game, he has no passion and is ineffective. That lack of emotion has carried into practice and his head is just not in it at all. Because of that, Jeter has benched him indefinitely until he decides he wants to care. I also heard a rumor that his scholarship could be playing for his scholarship in the final month of the season. Coaches are tired of waiting for him to want to play. Again, just a rumor I heard. So PMPMCK is going to run him off? Classy. Anyone who seen Kelm play in HS knew he was a total softy. PMPMCK has no eye for talent, among his many other faults.

Jeter never told others to call him Coach K. While Kowalczyk suffers from delusions of grandeur, Jeter suffers from illusions of nothing.
