Jeter clearly gave up on this bunch. I think I would enjoy the game more if he stayed in the locker room after halftime. Also it was pretty sad what one of the asst. coaches on the radio after the game tonight said, that they like when the bench is on the same side of the teams hoops so they can communicate with them. Because the team doesn't communicate on the court well. Pathetic!

I can't help but think nerves played a bit of a role with his poor shooting tonight. Between the nationally televised game and the large crowd, I think he was a bit out of his comfort zone. The "good news" is we probably won't see a crowd like that for the rest of the season.

Just a poor night of shooting overall. 3/20 from three point land just won't cut it.

It also doesn't help when we have a shoot-first 5'10" point guard (who goes inside and shoots like he thinks is a 7'0" center) and a streaky shooting guard having to play 40 minutes each per game against a team that goes 4-5 guards deep. Kaylon Williams and Ryan Allen got some breathers, Chris Hill and Ed McCants got some breathers, but right now, Jordan Aaron and Paris Gulley don't. That's a problem.

I know he has struggled every time he has been in this year, but would it really hurt to try to get Evan Richard back in the rotation at this point? He was good last year and this is just from observation, but it looks like he has zero confidence at this point. How will he get confidence back without being on the court? And what do we have to lose if he does make a few errors? If he's just not trying or if he has an attitude with the coaches, then that's reason enough to not only bench him but to revoke his scholarship. But if he is at least making an effort to get better, is at least an okay teammate, and is at least open to being coached, why isn't he in there? The game was out of hand in the second half tonight. Why did Jeter go with the same 7 players even when down by 15 with 2 minutes to go?

And while this team is depressing right now, can you imagine how bad it will be in four years when we have four years of recruiting using the Klotsche Center under our belt and Rob Jeter still as head coach? We're already competing with Parkside for recruits at this point (from what I remember)... we've been at least average the last few years and right now, we're going up against Division II schools for players. We'll be in the cellar through 2017... at least (unless we're in Division II by then, although I can't guarantee we'd be much better there).

The all-time program record is 17, set in 1994-95 and tied in 1996-97.

As for overall losses, the record of 24 was set in 1994-95 and tied in 1997-98.

Both of those marks are in serious jeopardy, which would make this the worst season since 1962-63, when the 4-17 Cardinals were outscored by an average of 23.2 points per game.
