I hope there are reporters at this press conference who ask the right questions, specifically:
1. Why only a 1-year contract?
2. Will you be hand-picking your successor?
3. What type of evaluation will be made on the men's basketball program?
4. Do you believe an on-campus arena is likely to be built? If so, by what date?
5. Is a new baseball field/stadium doable? If so, by what date?

FYI--- Bill Michaels just stated that Geiger may join him on today's show on 1250 AM WSSP. If not, he would hope to speak to him tomorrow.

Marketing and Branding and image questions need to be addressed big time
How will they market basketball to students ?? they do a piss poor job of it right now

Wow, this is a big time hire - even if only for a year. A great shot in the arm when it was most needed. I hope the university takes full advantage of his expertise/experience until July 2013.

Terrific Hire.
Fired Joe Krivak at the U of MD. Faux Pas on Mark Duffner Hire, as I told him Many times.
At OSU fired Randy Ayres.. Hired Jim O'Brien who took them to the Final 4. CORRECTLY fired O'Brien when he made under the table payoffs to prospective recruits. (Even though O'Brien successfully sued.)
Fired a moderately successful John Cooper and hired Tressel. Was forced out as AD in the aftermath of the Maurice Clarett "scandal".
ALWAYS responded to my Letters and E_Mails.
This is a terrific Hire!! How come you know it all members of this board didn't see this coming.

forgot to mention that he hired Thad Matta to replace O'Brien. I'd guess that hire worked out OK.

Geiger is also a well known Amateur Jazz Musician. I believe he plays the Sax.

Hack:
Geiger fired Jim O'Brien because O'Brien paid a foreign recruit. If you have any evidence that Rob paid recruits, please let Mr. Geiger know.
