I'd be interested to know who you feel are the top recruits the Panthers have landed during Rob Jeter's tenure and why those players are your picks, whether your a stats crazy fan or you just liked what a particular player brought to the table.
For me while considering this question I felt I had to split it into two categories for four year and JUCO/transfer players.
It was a tough choice for me for a four-year player between Ricky Franklin and Ant Hill but in the end I've settled on Ricky because I think he played at a high level more consistently and over a longer period of time.
My JUCO/transfer player is Ryan Allen for his amazing shot blocking, hard nosed D, explosive dunks and big time improvement handling the ball and shooting free throws coming into this seaon.
Looking forward to your picks and fond memories of past Panthers.

Likely not going to be the most popular pick, but James Eayrs was among the most consistently productive players of the era.

Here's how I see it. After 8 it gets much more cloudy...
1. Ricky Franklin 2. Anthony Hill 3. Kaylon Williams 4. Tony Meier 5. James Eayrs 6. Ryan Allen 7. Tone Boyle 8. Marcus Skinner

Tyrone Young.
With all seriousness, Marcus Skinner. Had not been for all of the suspensions in 2008, we would have never seen him turn into the player he became.

I think that Paige Paulsen has to be on the list somewhere. 13.3 points and 6.4 rebounds as a senior. Maybe seventh?

No, Paige transferred from Northern Illinois after 2004-05 (Pearl's last year), sat out 2005-06 (Jeter's first year), and played in 2006-07 and 2007-08.

Then I would slide Paige in between Ryan and Tone.

I'd put Hill #1. His post offense made Jeter's offense.
Is this list only for former players? Why aren't there any of next years team on the lists?

I guess in hindsight, that doesn't mean they were better recruits... just better players, which at the end of the day is what really matters. If we were going off of pre-season hype Torre Johnson, Tyrone Young, Kaylon Williams and Shaquille Boga would be at or near the top of my list.

What we really have here is a list of the best players of the Jeter era.
A list of the top "recruits" would have to include Kyle Kelm, Shaq Boga, Jordan Aaron and, gulp, Tyrone Young.
Anthony Hill wouldn't be anywhere near the list of the top 10 "recruits."
Though Anthony was the only first-team all-league member on the list, and only the program's fifth ever, I would also put him behind Ricky (1,291 points, 492 rebounds). Ant just took so darn long to develop.

I think Ant should've got more playing time in his freshmen year.

Hill should have been redshirted his Freshman year. He was thrust into the lineup due to Allen's injury and the Simeon Boys and Torre Johnson leaving the program.

Maybe I shouldn't have said top recruits, what I was really thinking of was top players recruited by Coach Jeter based on how they've played, not really considering who was supposed to do what when they were recuited.
Hopefully a couple of the current players will re-write this list as we move forward, but when I was thinking of this, like JG Panthers I was thinking of past players.
