@huskerextrasip: Is Rob Jeter's the #Huskers' primary target in a search that begin Saturday? I wouldn't be surprised.

I'd be glad for him and for us if he heads to Nebraska.
I truly think his style is just not for us. For Nebraska or in the Big Ten however it would fit right in.

I think, quite frankly, that it's time to move on ... for all parties involved.

I agree, it's time for a change. Two concerns though: 1. How attractive is a vacant head coaching spot at Milwaukee? 2. Is our AD capable of making a good hire? I guess all I'm saying is, be careful what you wish for.

If Milwaukee is going to be middle of the pack next year in the Horizon, the program might as well start fresh. I definitely will be hoping Jeter takes over another program.

@huskerextrasip: The possibility of #Huskers hiring Rob Jeter of Wis.-Milwaukee is being met with a reax that can best be described as ... underwhelming.

this article hits on what i was going to say i think Nebraska is going to do, try for a big name guy, like Stevens or Smart. But if you are Brad Stevens why would you leave to go to Nebraska for what is essentially a lateral move from Butler, if not a step down, need practice facility or arena or not, I can't see that he would really be all that interested in going to Nebraska, but i have been wrong in the past. I think Smart is the wild card though, he could listen, I have no idea what kind of ties he has to the area around VCU but i got a feeling the bigger conference and the bigger paycheck that Nebraska could offer him would be something he would listen to. And I am in no way surprised by the fan reaction to the rumor of Jeter going, since that school's fan base wants a big name and known name to come in and turn that program around and to the causal fan i can't see Rob being that name.

I don't see why Shaka Smart would turn down NC State last year only to bolt for Nebraska this year. Brad Stevens is much too smart to leave Butler for Lincoln. If Nebraska thinks they can get a "name" mid-Major coach, they're smokig the wacky weed. A guy like Jeter is a perfectly logical candidate.

Im not saying Smart would leave, I think he would listen before Stevens would though, that was all I saying. I think the Nebraska situation is the same as many other schools when they are great in one sport and below average in another, they want the school to go out and break the bank and get the hottest name out there to bring in but the school knows that just isn't going to happen, and that is where i totally agree with you that a guy in a similar situation as Jeter would be who a program like Nebraska would end up hiring, a mid-major coach who has had some success on their resume as Jeter does.
