All the more incredible that Waters didn't draw a technical foul.

FYI, that game -- against Fairfield in a "meaningless" non-conference game -- drew more than Rick Costello's proposed arena would hold. You have to understand that cost is absolutely a factor, and we did fall short of our recent fundraising expectations. As much as it might pain some of us, a 7000 seat arena might be way out of our price range. How about not building the new facility until we have the money. I'd rather wait the extra two or three years and get this right. After all, it will be our home for the next 40.

Very entertaining game. Good crowd, good win, a lot of fun. You knew Fairfield wasn't going away quietly. They have some very talented players. Good job pulling it out with a depleted team. I'd like to personally thank Sydney Johnson for the added entertainment. How does he not get ejected? I had so much damn fun at this game!!! The clipboard incident was so over the top, and to have it happen right in front of me was priceless. My Rossman kids were honored as Rising Stars....it was Senior Day, I got lots of photos with the players after the game...we WON....man oh man...it was just a fun game to be at!!! I've had season tickets for 12 years, and its games like this that keep me coming back year after year after year. I love it!! We'll get our new arena, and with Costello and Lovell running the show...it'll be done right....no matter how Walker tries to f' with the UW system.

I'm thinking he got a longer leash because he was in the right ... player fouled out, so they should get their minute. Refs (and UWM bench) didn't know he fouled out and were rushing them from the huddle. Good call, our group didn't realize that Matthews fouled out. i wound up sitting in section 223. Some of the people in the section caught right away that it was a fifth personal foul, but were confused because there was no announcement of the fact over the PA, as there usually is in such cases.
i think there were five fouls called on each team in the first half. And then things changed. Part of the confusion in the crowd had to be seeing a player collect his fifth foul so early in the second half...

I think it bears mentioning that Shaq Boga hit two enormous free throws down the stretch and --you might want to sit down for this -- Paris Gulley hit a two-point follow-up that put Milwaukee in the lead.

Athletics was promoting the game as a "replica jersey giveaway" day. Got there at 2:30 with my 11-year-old nephew and nothing was being given away.

The replica jerseys were promoted earlier in the week. Later on Pounce Bobbleheads were the promoted giveaway, and i saw a number of people carrying the boxes. Obviously there was some kind of communication failure...

Glad you had a fun time, right with the rest of the audience. Especially at a terrible, worthless, can't-run-away-from-it-fast-enough BracketBuster. If we can dramatically improve our non conference scheduling, great but I sadly think the BracketBuster will be replaced by someone closer to Omaha than Wisconsin. I will ask that you keep politics off this board. None of us came here for that. They didn't toss Johnson because they realized that they caused the entire situation. You could even make the argument, which I sure some Fairfield fans are, that we scored 2 points due to a technical foul that never should have happened. They can make that argument, but they'd be wrong. Reacting like that EARNED him a T, no doubt about it. I'm guessing MAAC zebras are comparable to Horizon ones, so Sydney should be used to the occasional head-scratcher.

I sadly think the BracketBuster will be replaced by someone closer to Omaha than Wisconsin. They say that they're trying to work out a challenge series with a league like the CAA, MVC or WCC instead. Maybe we'll get a better game and maybe we won't. Time will tell. As long as it doesn't mean another game against a non-Division 1 opponent, I'm cool with it.

I want to say that I have never seen the fake shot clock count-down by the students work so well! It was very funny. The Fairfield players were obviously confused, as one of them was gesturing to the shot clock with his hands up trying to explain why he took a rushed three pointer with 24 seconds to go.

Needham's stat line was outstanding. 5 points (2-10, 1-6 3pt), 4 reb, 0 ast (as a PG), -11.
