i don't get all the hate for collins being biased...he was gushing about Allen and Williams He was ... in between all the "Ooooooooooooooooo!" by that logic, Gus Johnson is incredibly biased in virtually every game he calls? he also "ooooh"d the dunks and kelm's and-one don't get me wrong, Collins sucks as an announcer... |

I realize its never been good and maybe I'm wrong but this year just feels worse than previous years at the stripe. Without looking up the numbers, I'd say that's a safe bet. |

UWM's free throw numbers dating back to 2003/2004:
03/04: 70.5% (110)
04/05: 70.3% (116)
05/06: 69% (173)
06/07: 67.3% (219)
07/08: 68% (201)
08/09: 71.9% (71)
09/10: 68.5% (188)
10/11: 65.5% (283)
I see inconsistency, not wall-to-wall badness. We were one of the worst last year too, but nobody complained.

I'm not saying he was biased at all ... Gus Johnson is a PxP ... much different role. Collins is a color guy and supposed to provide more insight than shouting at every play. Also, shouldn't talk over his PxP guy repeatedly. Pointless to debate this since we are basically agreeing Collins sucks, but we all know he's just a body filling a role for an internet broadcast. |

Also think Ryan Allen cramping up was huge, that's when the 'Guins made their final push. With such a defensive minded team, he's the keystone.

Listening to Collins talk about basketball made me stop wondering why his teams were so terrible at the end of his career. Bingo!!! I'm a UIC fan and couldn't believe Collins was doing the color on this game. The man knows nothing about basketball so it was no surprise that he had no insight in this game. The only reason he had any success at UIC (3 NCAA and 1 NIT appearance) was due to his assistant coaches---Nagy and Combes. When they left, the program went into the crapper. |
