i think the stuff that fran explained earlier (about UW not allowing us to go in transition) played a huge role in Paris being largely ineffective...his skills should definitely prove valuable in the future also, i was watching the game via a HLN feed at a bar in madison...what's the story with evan's injury? it didn't look good... Bingo. Paris is much, much better in transition than in the half-court offense. We saw that in other games as well. Evan just had a cramp.

Evan can do great things, when he's hot. He came into this game as a sub-20% 3-point shooter, however. He is a freshman and he still has time to learn.
His post defense on Berggren was hilariously amazing, though,

Evan would be a significantly better shooter if he were on the court for more than a handful of minutes at a time.
One of the coaches once said to me that a player has to "work up a sweat" by running up and down the court a few times to get into the pace of the game. Few players can come in and bang shots automatically.

Too many "ifs" to digest at the moment. I will probably be the only one not to single out the poor FT shooting. Yes, probably. "Free throws were the difference in the game," UWM coach Rob Jeter said. "We make a few more and it's a different story."

Totally agree Fran. This team has heart and talent. Two endearing qualities for any basketball fan... If you were in Chicago you saw Paris do things too. Paris is a capable defender and ball handler, both areas where Evan has been shaky. Tonight we just had to have offense and Evan delivered. But it will still be a process. Eventually Evan will be a starter, we all know that. Not sure if it will be this year, although it wouldn't shock me if it happens. Yet another comment I totally agree with. Give Evan time. If you watch Paris defend, it's obvious he does it with a tenacity not displayed by most guards. When he teams up with Ryan and Kaylon on the perimeter, the opposing guards are going to have a very difficult time scoring. Evan isn't there yet, but like you said, he's just a freshman. His potential has few limits.

I think once Evan stops thinking and let's his natural abilities take over, hell, the sky's the limit.

I think once Evan stops thinking and let's his natural abilities take over, hell, the sky's the limit. That's going to take more regular playing time. Wherever will he find it?

If Tony were 3-10 or Kaylon 2-6 from three, it could have been a different story too.

I think that Kyle again would have helped immensely in this area.
For one, his presence on the court helps create better spacing for our perimeter players.
Two, he is a proficient 3-point shooter himself, making 9 of 21 (over 40%) so far this season.

Did anyone else notice David Nicholas and his family at the game?
Not pleased.
