Marquette game from last year all over again. The bright lights and big stage had an effect on our team and it really showed in the first half.
Somebody I was with said, "well at least we played well". Outside of a 12 minute stretch in the second half, we played like sh*t. We missed free throws and layups a plenty, and if it wasn't for poor strategy by Wisconsin in the second half we would have never been in the game.
Positives: Haarsma is a beast! Evan Richard showed he is on the path of earning more playing time. We will learn from this game and be more prepared for the next big venue.

7 of 17. Sorry, this is an issue. Especially if a major component of your offense is to work the ball inside. This

Tough game to lose...I see no more moral victories, all I see is shoulda couldas, and what ifs.
Hell of game, lets take out the some pain on Neb-Omaha and then come full force for the MU game!

That was going to be my first post. I'm not very good with moral-victory posts. Make your free throws and this is a totally different game. Too many "ifs" to digest at the moment.

Every game against Wisconsin is a long list of "ifs."

We can now officially say that free throws cost us the game. When will this problem be taken seriously because it obviously hasn't been so far this season?!? I've seen grade school teams shoot free throws better! Nice comeback but an extremely disappointing loss and we have only ourselves to blame. I fear this may be the first of many if this problem isn't addressed.

Yes the early missed free throws hurt bad, but you don't know if that might have caused Madison to change some things on their side to compensate.
The last minute of the 1st half hurt and those two empty possessions around the 2 minute mark of the 2nd half. Didn't even get a shot off.
I liked seeing Evan taking Gully's minutes tonight, of course.
But...
I can't help but think Kyle Kelm would have given us what we needed to put us over the top. That's not to say Christian Wolf didn't play well. He did a solid job in the post tonight.

To be honest...What good is Kaylon besides getting assists and some layups? Too many times, his turnovers and PITIFUL FT cause me to go crazy...it just seems his flaws are starting to overshadow alot of his best skills...

To all, please don't call the missed free throws a trifle or an "annoyance" any longer.
This is a full-fledged epidemic and I don't know how it can be solved.
A win tonight over the state flagship and an RPI top 15 team would have been a very big deal.
And yes, Kyle's presence would have put us over the top. Berggren ate our lunch tonight.

Agreed. Although turnovers weren't as much of a problem is they usually are, many times his negatives offset his positives.

Wolf held his own the best he could versus Berggren. Harris must and is way in the dog house. I thought he would've played tonight with Kelm out.

Who's to say Kyle would have helped? He could have gone 2-9 shooting and gotten 4 fouls for all we know...
Just saying...
