Play well and win. If that delivers a one point win, I'm fine with that. If we play badly and win by ten I'll take that too.

i'm looking forward to Thursday night.
i'll be working at the Graduate School information table* (the Graduate School has become a sponsor for athletics), before the game and during halftime, but i get to watch the game. Here's hoping the Panthers continue their good start to the season.
Go Panthers!
* an advanced degree from UWM...you know you want one.

I hate this quick jump into league play for two games. Nothing helps more than a 2-0 start. This is what I expect. 2-0 it helps you build momentum for a tough stretch of non-con games

This is what I expect. 2-0 it helps you build momentum for a tough stretch of non-con games In reality, this two-game homestand probably comes at the ideal time. Look at the stretch of games the Panthers face immediately afterward. In fact, look at the rest of December, sans UNO. FYI, realtimerpi.com (understandably) projects the Panthers to lose the seven games after UIC, starting with DePaul on Dec. 5. The stretch also includes the UW game and games at Northern Iowa, Marquette, Valparaiso, Butler and Western Michigan. In other words, thank heavens for these two games (hopefully).

Worry about DePaul and the rest when we come to it. Hell, worry about UIC on Friday.
This is about Loyola.

RPI is stupid. We're not the 189th best team in the country.

RPI is stupid. We're not the 189th best team in the country. Its stupid in the beginning of the year because everything is so shaky. RPI clears up and becomes more useful as the season moves along. Win games and we have nothing to worry about as the rest will balance out.

RPI is stupid. We're not the 189th best team in the country. I believe that Milwaukee is now officially up to No. 156. RPI isn't stupid, but it is irrelevant this early in the season. There just isn't enough available data after two weeks worth of games. Will UNI finish with an RPI of 11? Northwestern at No. 15? Wait another month and the numbers will be far more meaningful.

If we can do the "Chicago Sweep", I'll be all giddy come Saturday night. One game at a time. Go Panthers!! One game at a time -- agreed. But extend through next Monday and you have the possibility of a real "Chicago sweep."

FWIW (and it's worth more than RPI) Milwaukee is 111 in the latest Kenpom rankings. Kenpom also predicts we'll lose the following 7 sans UNO -- but with the exception of UW and MU, predicts that all of those games are within 4 points, which is close enough to a tossup for my thinking.
But we'll get there when we get there. Loyola first.
