I think it goes without saying, but I'll say it anway, I hope Tony is back as soon as possible! He is our best player and it would suck to have him miss any games.
Here is my take on the scrimmage:
I was most impressed with Kyle Kelm. He definitely did his homework in the offseason and he is set up to have a great year. He will play big minutes. He looked stronger, looked quicker, and looked very confident in his ability to handle the ball, especially for a 6-9 guy.
Ja'rob looked great. I agree with the post above that says that it is much better to have him on the wing rather than playing point. He drove the lane quite a bit, which I was pleasantly surprised with.
Shaq was also awesome; he scored in pretty much every way you can. He is fun to watch and he has an ability to slip through the cracks in the defense. A couple times I saw him drive to the basket through really heavy traffic, only to come away with an open look. I do get the feeling that he was trying to do too much out there, maybe show off a bit, but no doubt he is a special talent and it is awesome that we have him. I thought it was great to see Chris Hill coach him as the night went on.
I am undecided about JJ. I feel a redshirt would help him alot, especially on the offensive end. Unless I'm blind or missed something, he didn't seem to have a big impact on offense. On defense, yes, he was great.
Evan was great, too. Much quicker than I expected, both in dribbling and in his shot release. Like others have said already, he can really elevate on his shot. I don't know how much he'll play this year with all the guards we have already, but he will definitely be a big part of this team, either now or down the road. He can provide us with a spark on offense for sure.
