Gah, I'll be heading up north on a hunting trip. Wish it was Wednesday.
Someone who is there will have to let me know how it goes.

Never been to one of these before, curious what the format is, is it like a real game or more like a practice?

It's played like a real game for the most part, with clock and score. But players may occasionally switch sides for balance. It's definitely a nice way to see what the kids look like in a much better way than the dunk contest or three point contests at the madness. For one thing, you see defense as well as offense.
Most practices are drills or situations of one sort or another. Scrimmaging is somewhat limited in practices.

Let's hope there's more defense than last year

Last year was my first year at the scrimmage. I do not recall them switching players last year. It was a fun event, especially for my son. Looking forward to it this year.

How long is the scrimmage typically? 1 hour? 2 hours? I'll be working in Brookfield until 6pm, so I'm wondering if it'll be worth my time to head over there afterwards.

Going off of last season, it didn't start on time. The clock is not a running clock. So, the normal 2 hour game.

I'm very disappointed they didn't re-schedule this event. Don't they know the Brewers may or may not have been playing in game 7 of the World Series? Shouldn't they know by now they should only elevate the program if and only if it doesn't conflict with another sporting event involving a popular WI team even though there was zero guarantee the Brewers would even make it that far? I can't believe they have the audacity to not cater to other teams' potential schedules. Have fun scrimmaging in front of 5 people!

Missed last year, but the year before they kept the clock running the last 10 minutes or so. PantherNation, you might be able to catch the 2nd half. Emphasis on might. Two years ago they gave away a poster that you could get signed by the team, so that was cool. The play is more free-style, not unlike the Pro-Am in Greenfield if you went to that. Good way to showcase what the guys are capable of.

I was hoping since CBS moved LSU-Alabama to 7pm, that the Panthers would move the exhibtion gametime on Nov. 5

That was cold, 'holic. But funny. Speaking of conflicts, last night I downloaded the four D1 schedules and compared them. I was very disappointed to find that this year there are eleven instances when Milwaukee plays games at the exact same time and date that Wisconsin plays games. My recollection from past years is that there would only be four or five such conflicts. Worse, there are a couple instances where really big rivalry games conflict. For example, on February 4th Milwaukee plays at Green Bay at 1:00pm. That's a game I always go to. At the exact same time, OSU plays at Wisconsin in what could be the biggest game of the Big Ten season. On January 26 at 7:00pm Milwaukee hosts Butler at the Cell. At 8:00pm Wisconsin hosts Indiana. This sucks for me particularly as a big fan of both programs, but I fear it will have some general adverse impact on Milwaukee home attendance because virtually every one of the Wisconsin games is televised. I haven't checked the Marquette schedule closely yet, but I'm sure there must be a few conflicts there too, which will affect guys like mupanther. It's not anyone's fault. It just worked out poorly this year.
