I also don't know if I'll be attending the Madness. Game 5 takes precedence. I have no faith in the Brewer pitching staff right now. I don't like the Carpenter/Yo match up...and Griencke gives up 6 in his five inning stint. I won't even bother discussing Marcum and Wolff...........

I really wish they would move it back a day, a few hours, something, anything.
Since they are not, I won't be there. I'm watching the Brewer game.

Everyone has a right to follow the sports and teams they most enjoy, so enjoy it. But doesn't the baseball game start at 7 and the Madness event at 9? Why not come to the Klotsche when the baseball game ends?

Why not come to the Klotsche when the baseball game ends? I don't live in Milwaukee so I won't be going either way, but to dispute your point a bit... If this game goes anything like the first two, it won't end until 10:45. Just how much of the Madness event will you get to see if you don't get there until 11:00 PM (assuming you live within 15 minutes of the Klotsche and leave immediately following the game)?

The offical start of the college basketball season is on Friday the 14th. So, it would be odd to do it on Saturday. Why even move an event that is free anyways. They should move the start time to 10pm or 10:30 pm. It's only one hour later.
The Brewers might be rained out tonight and then they would be playing, Thur, Fri. & Saturday.
I'll be at the Al & KC on Friday. Can't wait!!

Looking forward to Panther Madness. I'd be cool if they passed out coupons for Panthers merchandise b/c I REALLY like the new Ping golf shirt but can't justify spending $60 on it. I'd love to load up on new Panthers gear but NCAA apparel is just so damn expensive. You get that 20% off card for the bookstore as a season-ticket holder.

When do we get that 20% off card? Do they send it when they send the season tickets?

As noted, it's possible there will be a baseball game on Saturday, so moving the Madness event to Saturday potentially doesn't even avoid the problem. As for starting it later on Friday, 10 is really pushing it for a lot of people. And what happens if the baseball game goes into extra innings? Then you've just inconvenienced people needlessly.
Life has conflicts, some of which can't be avoided. There appears to be at least a chance that the modern, interminable baseball season will end before the first college basketball game is played, so I think we can put up with this one. (Editor's Note: Bring back the 154 game regular season, two pennant winners and a WS that would already be over by now!)

To be honest, past UWM Madness events were just disappoointing and a waste of time. The only things that stick out post BP era were: Derrick Ford trying to dunk from the free throw line and hurting himself, Joe Allen tearing his hamstring, and a bunch of missed dunks in the dunk contest. They should open the scrimmage to the students rather than bother with a Madness Event.

If the Brewers keep this up, Madness looks like a good option. I will likely take my son to madness instead of watching the brewer game.

As noted, it's possible there will be a baseball game on Saturday, so moving the Madness event to Saturday potentially doesn't even avoid the problem. As for starting it later on Friday, 10 is really pushing it for a lot of people. Panther Madness should be about the students. Those alumni and season-ticket holders who want to join in the fun should be more than welcome, but this event should be, as it has been at schools around the country for 40 years, geared towards the students. By splitting Madness off from the open scrimmage and holding two separate events, aren't they basically showing that they are catering to students with Madness and paying customers with the Scrimmage? I bring that up because students would have no problem showing up at 10 p.m. on a Friday night. To be honest, past UWM Madness events were just disappointing and a waste of time. The only things that stick out post BP era were: Derrick Ford trying to dunk from the free throw line and hurting himself, Joe Allen tearing his hamstring, and a bunch of missed dunks in the dunk contest. They should open the scrimmage to the students rather than bother with a Madness Event. No, they should actually put an effort into the Madness as an event rather than what has been done in the past. This is why it has failed before. It was improperly marketed and poorly planned (The Boogiemen? Stand-up comics?). It doesn't matter what we did in the past, the fact is that other programs at our mid-major level who don't have football programs have been using this type of event for decades to psyche up the student body on basketball and it's worked. So you can't say that it's not going to work because we've tried it and it's failed. What we've tried isn't Midnight Madness, it's a couple of mini-events put together that barely resembles what is done at other programs, even those close to our size.
