Last I read it was down to the guy from Duquesne (who's now out), the guy from Boston U, and Jeter. Who the hell knows what's going on.

We'll go through the same thing next year and probably lose Rob to Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, N.C. State, Indiana or some bottom-feeder from the Pac-10 (Oregon State? Stanford?).
Of course, we'll be better positioned to find an able replacement after Rick's had a full year on the job.
No worries; it's the nature of the beast.

Ron Everhart's decision, regardless of its effect on Rob, should tell this message board one thing: Duquesne is a better job than Penn State.

Ron Everhart's decision, regardless of its effect on Rob, should tell this message board one thing: Duquesne is a better job than Penn State. I wouldn't go quite that far. What it means is that just because a school is in a 'major' conference, doesn't mean it's automatically better. Everhart looked at his options and decided staying at Duquesne made more sense for him. There are advantages to schools like PSU and U of M, and there are disadvantages. And each individual coach is going to weigh those differently.

Per Jeff Goodman of CBS:
Boston University coach Pat Chambers was offered the Penn State job earlier today - per sources.

Per Gary Parrish of CBS:
Ron Everhart and Rob Jeter have both publicly withdrawn at Penn State. That means, barring a shock, BU's Pat Chambers is getting the job.
