Rob Jeter much to the shock of many people in this city is an excellent coach and motivator. It might be time we find a way to lock him up long term especially with the recent offers he has received from other big time schools.

Shoot, there is a guy that sits up in section 324 that at least once a game is yelling garbage at and about Jeter. I don't even know why he bothers to come to games if Jeter upsets him that much.

This is from Andy Katz's blog after the Cincinnati-Wright State game: • Wright State coach Billy Donlon said there isn't a team in the Horizon League that improves more from the opening game to the last league contest than Rob Jeter's Milwaukee squad. The Panthers nearly tripped up Wisconsin on Tuesday. In fairness, that may be because we're usually so goddamn terrible at the start of the season.

Jeter does not need an extension for more money, if he is hired away then so be it. 19-24 in February games and he still gets annual rollover extensions for bigger money than the athletic department can truly afford.

Yeah Rob, we'll see how good that Stanford win looks in a few months.
Even thou I'm going to be predicting a loss at Butler on Saturday afternoon, still think we have the better team.

Yeah Rob, we'll see how good that Stanford win looks in a few months. Considering that Stanford would win the Horizon if it was in this conference, yes it was a good win ... on the road nonetheless.

Why? Just because they are in the Pac10/12?
They wouldn't have won the Horizon last year.

Why? Just because they are in the Pac10/12? They wouldn't have won the Horizon last year. That whole 10-2 record. Oh, and losing by 6 in the Garden to who is now the No. 1 team in the country. My goodness, sometimes we need to appreciate that Butler goes out and gets it done against "major" teams ... on the road nonetheless. Yeah, Stanford may struggle in the Pac 12 and it might not be "that" good of a win at the end of the season. Still would be better than any Milwaukee non-conference victory (sans NCAA tournament) in a long time. Not sure what's the point in looking down on a road win at a big name school.

I don't see how one can debate the fact that Butler remains the team to beat in the Horizon.
We can talk all we want about how much potential and talent this year's team has, but the fact remains that we have beaten the average and poor teams on our schedule this year and have lost to the 4 quality opponents we have faced.
Butler has been up and down, but they have more quality non-conference wins in the last week than we have in the last 5 years. If I know one thing about that team, it is this: They know how to win when it counts. I can't say the same about us or any other Horizon League team.

It's a pretty good week for Butler when you beat Purdue and Stanford. Stanford, should've beat Syracuse in MSG. By the way it's the Pac-12!!

It's what makes Butler so appealing. Outside of Oklahoma, our biggest non-conference wins in the last six-plus seasons have come against Montana, Wyoming, Hawai'i, St. Louis, Bradley and Northern Iowa. Nice wins, but that's hardly Notre Dame, Indiana, Tennessee, Gonzaga, Purdue (twice), Florida State (twice), Virginia Tech, Texas Tech, Michigan, Northwestern (twice), Xavier (twice), Stanford (twice), UAB and Ohio State (twice, once without Evan Turner ) ... ... and that's just in the regular season. The Bulldogs will be right in the mix along with us, Cleveland State and Valpo.

Don't count out, Detroit.

The Titans will score their share of wins, but Ray Sr. is the reason I don't consider Detroit a candidate to take top league honors.
