Well, I think this is good news that Jeter is staying at UWM. I hope many feel the same because there is many that wanted him gone. (People who miss Bruce Pearl)

Honestly he's most likely seeing that he can win more now with Milwaukee, possibly even getting into the Big Dance in the next couple of years and getting a bigger offer from a high major team. Works for me as long as we can keep him for a few more years, continue to improve and hopefully restore a sense of stability to the program. BTW, I wasn't simply implying that money was the deciding factor for Jeter because it obviously wasn't. I was implying that money would very likely be my motivating factor for changing jobs!

I apologize for my previous comment, I do see the need to hold onto him. I can't say that I would stay with my current employer if the chance to make significantly more money popped up. Honestly he's most likely seeing that he can win more now with Milwaukee, possibly even getting into the Big Dance in the next couple of years and getting a bigger offer from a high major team. Precisely. With what trasnpired in the last 1 1/2 months of the season, combined with the incoming recruits and redshirts, RJ probably has bigger ambitions than Bradley - and I don't mean any disrespect towards BU. Hopefully, Costello sees this as an opportunity to push a new facility.

Any good coach coaches to win first, and Bradley is a huge rebuilding project with a backseat-driving administration that makes it even tougher. He's also got Wisconsin roots that run incredibly deep, and it's not like he's getting paid minimum wage as it is.

+1, but I'm not complaining. As I said previously, it seemed like too much of a lateral move.

Well, I think this is good news that Jeter is staying at UWM. I hope many feel the same because there is many that wanted him gone. And admittedly, I was one. I'm happy he and the players turned things around, and have a lot of momentum going into next year. It's conceivable we'll compete for the HL crown next year. That's obviously a good thing, and what I believe the expectation should be.

Really couldn't.

Repoman, when do I get my beer? As I said earlier folks, start worrying when our coach is NOT being courted. It's the nature of the beast at every mid-major with, at best, three exceptions I can think of. And as to one of those, I'll re-bet that beer (well, a different one) that the day will come when Brad Stevens leaves Indy for Bloomington. It's a great reminder that we should appreciate what we have. I certainly do. I just came on here to offer it to you! First game next season either at the Cell or Goolsbys. I am a man of my word.

You could offer him one at the Panther Baseball tailgate party at Miller Park on April 29th.

Steve and Fran have said it best:
To retain Rob meant sustaining momentum in scheduling, recruiting and league performance. There's certainly been a jump on each front every year since 2006-07.
One sign of continued growth next year would be to beat notable non-conference opponents and to record a winning record out of conference. In order to be a perennial postseason participant, these things must be accomplished.
Now, what can be done for our assistants?

Bradley's D-Board seems to think that Jeter is holding out to see if the MU spot becomes available. One person came to the conclusion that we weren't paying him, and of course there was a 'UW-M' siting. Bright bunch in Peoria.
