That would leave us very short handed, but not dead. However if we hire a coach there is always the liklihood that some of his recruits would follow him to Milwaukee. Also if they were to hire one of his assistants the liklihood of more recruits staying is high since recruits often bond more with the assistant coaches who did more of the recruiting. With that being said, I'd like UWM to go in a new direction now that Jeter's probably gone.

At least we have an AD now. I'd hate to see who Koonce would have hired

First of all, you're jumping to conclusions. There's no compelling report that Rob is "probably gone." Second, by "new direction" what do you mean? If it's a change in style, I have no problem with that as long as the new style still involves intelligent, disciplined basketball. But I would have a substantial objection to a new direction as far as recruiting approach or program management.
Start with absolute integrity, and work from there.

From Mark Miller on the Twatters:
@wisbbyearbook: Bradley throwing some big-time money at Milwaukee coach Rob Jeter. Will be interesting to see what Rob does.

I mean that it would be nice to see some more uptempo style that is more entertaining to watch from the fans perspective. Don't get me wrong, its been really fun watching UWM the last couple years and I'd like to see Jeter continue his career here now that he has an established program and has improved every year, but I prefer the type of game UWM played under Pearl.
I'll also bet you a beer Jeter is leaving.

Tom says he's hearing the same things we are and that Bradley's offering a big wad of cash.
This entire development is inconceivable to me after the events prior to Jan. 23.
As for TBJ's story, Rob is obviously 101-89 in six years with the program, not 79-80. He's 79-80 since guiding the 2005-06 team to a 22-9 record.

I'll also bet you a beer Jeter is leaving. That's a good bet but you should double or triple it. You may get thirsty while you wait. If they throw enough money at him, he's gone. I wonder what the Bradley world would feel about such a hiring?

Tom says he's hearing the same things we are and that Bradley's offering a big wad of cash. And no doubt part of what RJ is negotiating is the buyout clause in his contract with UWM. He has to pay 75% of his $400,000 salary if he leaves before 10/15/11. No doubt he wants Bradley to foot that bill. That's also a nice amount for us to start with in our search for a new coach, if this goes down like it appears it will.

Rob's not leaving.
He has removed his name from consideration.
...at least, that's what I just was told.

Reportedly, Rob turned down $700,000 a year and a "significant" pay raise for his coaches.
Say whatever else you want, but that's loyalty.
I say that we respond by repaying them with as much palpable support as we can. When you see them, give them a big smile and a hearty handshake.
