I'm pulling for some busted, under-achieving major conference teams to embarrass. Bring on the Minnesota's who mailed it in a month ago, and the Colorado's and Nebraska's who's bubble status was a cruel joke to their fanbase at best.
Meeting Tom Crean and destroying that team would be incredibly satisfying as well.
I'm excited about the possibilities, bring on the NIT!

The only place Crean is going after Thursday is back to the tanning bed.
I'd love to play Minnesota provided it's as unmotivated and disinterested as it appeared last week in its loss in Evanston.
If the Goofers are even remotely engaged, that's a nearly impossible task for us with Trevor Mbakwe (6-8, 240), Colton Iverson (6-10, 258) and Ralph Sampson (6-11, 241) on the other side.
That's just the reality of the situation.

i don't think we'd be playing Minnesota in the first round...maybe Missouri State with a second round game against the Gophers?

Ill stay away from Mbakwe. Just my opinion but Minnesota has been getting decent guard play, but their bigs have been struggling. I think we would win on a neutral court.

You're not seriously comparing Big Mitch to Colton Iverson or Ralph Sampson III, ar you?
If this is the draw and the Goofers care, it's going to be far too tall a mountain to climb.
And where do you get this idea of a neutral court? You know it would be in Minneapolis, right?

The reason they are out of the NCAA picture is because of their guards. The transfer of Devoe Joseph and the injury to Al Nolan killed Minnesota. I'd rather play Baylor at this point since it looks like Perry Jones is going to be ineligible the rest of the season.

Guys I have to vehemently disagree on this one. When is the last time Minnesota won a game? They lost to Northwestern today, a small team that I think we match up well against. Colton Iverson had 0 points and 0 blocks (9 rebounds good) and Ralph Sampson had 12 points and 5 rebounds. This was a conference tourny game, and they were playing for their tournament lives!
I don't know what you guys see in them. I haven't watched a lot of Minnesota basketball, but to me Hoffarber and Mbakwe are the only ones who haven't mailed it in. Color me not impressed with Minnesota. I feel bad if Ralph Sampson ever draws comparisons to his old man, he should develop a 3 point game. Colton Iverson isn't a bad rebounder or shot blocker, he is a role player who plays a little small for his size, so I can't really bash him much.

Sampson, Mbakwe, and obviously Hoffarber are their three weapons. If the Mitch who showed up against Butler shows up and logs minutes against Minnesota in this entirely theoretical scenario, he won't put up huge numbers but he can make a significant impact.
I wish we saw that Mitch all year, because seriously. He actually played with intensity.

In any case, we will not be seeing Minnesota. RPI of 75? And that doesn't include the loss to Northwestern.
Hard to ignore two top 10 wins, but let's get real - those were practically years ago. Since January 26th, they're 1-10 with their only victory coming at home against 172 Iowa.
Remember this, which came from Doug Gottlieb - just because a team comes from a good conference doesn't mean they're a good team.
This also makes me seriously devalue Ken Pomeroy's ratings. Minnesota is 57 - just two spots ahead of 59 Seton Hall, who is 13-18. I guess we should pack it up, because we're not being receiving KenPom fallacio as a member of the BIGEAST or Big Ten.
