Jerm, you're probably right.
I wouldn't mind going to NYC either, it's been awhile...

I think our guys really need to win 1-2 games in the NIT to keep the City's attention to carry over into next season. f**k the rest of the city. Those folks should've been at the Cell for at least UNI, MU, Butler and GB. There have been great games at the Cell all year long, for great ticket prices. A run to MSG would be great!

By the way. I would like to thank those of you who convinced me to bring my title belt yesterday. I actually customized it with a Panther logo on the front of it and I got compliments on it throughout the night. It looked truly awesome in my humble opinion. A few people wanted to try it on but unfortunate I am just not the type to give my stuff to others in a crowded situation like that. I've had bad run ins of things being taken. Its to bad I didn't get to run onto the court holding it in the air though

Two conference title games were played simultaneously last night, both featuring a 1 and a 2 seed. One had an attendance of 10,437. The other? 2,105 (paid). We'll let you decide which tournament does a better job in determining how hosting rights are determined. Maybe Mark Lazerus knows now. Doubtful. That guy seems a little slow on the up-take.

Is he bigger than Kelm, from a build standpoint? Yes. I'd say that J.J. is 15-20 pounds heavier than Kyle on a frame an inch taller. While he has the ability to step out and hit the 3, J.J.'s more of an interior presence on both ends of the court, especially defensively.

Panoske is an exceptional shot blocker.

JJ is like Steve Novak in that he's a very tall outside shooter. But there's two problems with that:
1. He's got a long way to be that good shooting the three and...
2. That completely ignores his immense presence in the paint on offense and defense. He is a tremendous shot blocker, he already has several good post moves, and he's got the killer instinct to be the leader on a team.
That last part I've noticed lately in recruits - Evan Richard, Shaq Boga, Kyle Kelm and JJ Panoske are all guys who put whole teams on their shoulders and carried them far. The future in Milwaukee is bright.
I will say this; I'm not sure where Panoske is on his strength. He was very skinny as a junior, and bulked up this year but is still a little thin. He's way ahead of where Alec Brown is right now, but he's still a bit on the peaky side for my liking. The good news? Steve Felde - the man is one of my behind-the-scenes MVP's.

I think our guys really need to win 1-2 games in the NIT to keep the City's attention to carry over into next season. I could easily be wrong but I don't think even 2 wins would do much... The casual fan follows the NCAA tournament and thats it. It would take a run to Madison Square Garden to draw enough attention to get people to return next year. That to me would get enough coverage for people to take notice. It will be interesting to see how the team responds in the NIT. Will they be down about missing the NCAA's, come out flat and just bow out right away. OR Will they come in feeling they still have something to prove and play like they did during the late season stretch that got them to this point. I hope its the latter and I hope it equals a couple wins in the NIT. I think Ant Hill, Tone, and all the other seniors deserve the team to go all out in the NIT

Pretty good marks thus far for us.
The League is sitting pretty to have a top 10 attendance record assuming the B1G, Big 12, SEC, Big East, ACC, Pac 10 out draw us, which they likely will. Out of the mids left to play I think the A10 and MAC are the only other ones who might make a run, but I suppose that depends on who plays in the final.

The MAC looks like it'll beat us or come close - MAC's biggest rivalry with both teams not far from Cleveland. MAC notes - Lamont Simpson is an awful official.

Notice how I made space separations. This clearly shows that there is a line between high-majors and mid-majors, but there is also a line between mid-majors and low-majors.
I think this is one of the biggest problems hindering mid-major fans today. Casual basketball fans see Wisconsin and Marquette and everyone else. What they don't realize is on a bad night, when Milwaukee puts 2,500 in the seats at the Cell, that almost 200 schools in the country would kill to have that actual number in attendance at their games.
Edit: Hell, look at the three conferences that were so embarrassed that they didn't even release a number.
