All the games that have been confirmed on here were confirmed tonight at the golf event.
Rob said they're still trying to schedule two home games ... and they will be home games.

I count 12 games on that list, plus the 18 conference games makes 30 games. Are we in a preseason tourney? I thought the NCAA only allowed 28 games unless you play in an in season tourney like the Maui invitational or the Great Alaskan Shootout.

I think the current rules are 29 regular season games, or 27 plus up to 4 in an exempt tourney. Last year, Milwaukee played 27 plus 3 in the Portland tourney for a total of 30. However, uwmplanner's point is still valid ... 30 games is too many unless there's a tourney involved somewhere.

The bottom line is that we're playing two Big Ten teams, two Big East teams, two Valley teams and two MAC teams in the non-conference. And IUPUI is a nice "low-major" opponent.
No matter how we fill the last two spots (as long as it doesn't involve D2s) this is an outstanding non-con schedule.

Michigan State kind of rigged that tourney for themselves, didn't they?

Thanks for that help. Looks like you guys have one more open date to get to the 27 + 4(exempt tourney) maximum. BTW ... IUPUI will be a nice home opponent. They have a new coach, but Alex Young is REALLY good.

Michigan State kind of rigged that tourney for themselves, didn't they? Do we really call this a toury. Here's the deal. You get 4 games for the price of 2 by agreeing to participate in this "tournament". If you don't like it, then email your AD and suggest you'd rather play at IPFW and host Eastern Michigan instead. If you want to play the victim card for agreeing to play in tournaments that aren't "fair", head to the Valpo board. They complain about that all the time. FWIW, the NCAA can't force you to play in games and/or tournaments you don't want to play in, so someone at Milwaukee agreed to and/or wanted these games.

I don't recall hearing that St. Louis is confirmed for the coming season.
This could account for the mention of "two needed games, both at home."
And I for one love the multiple-team event. Yes, we draw No. 192 Texas Southern and No. 188 UALR. But we also get a top 100 team in IUPUI and a top 50 team in Michigan State.
Where's the downside?

You may be correct, however, it is still the fans right to complain against these types of "tournaments". Same thing with the "Bracketbusted" scam.
