Yeah, I'm surprised to see this as well. I nearly swore to myself after last year's showing that I'd never return to watch a game there, save for exhibitions. Things can't go nearly as poorly as they did last time, can they?!
It would be impressive to see a couple thousand students turn the KC into a raucous venue.

UNO, is to fill the gap as the Panthers play only one game in 16 days. It's still odd to me that they can't play in the Cell, as the last three years they have played on the 3rd Saturday in December.

Things can't go nearly as poorly as they did last time, can they?! This seems to be like setting your feet, bowing your neck and slamming face-first into a wall and saying, "Dude, that was a rush. Let's do it again."

There's a wave game the night of the 16th. www.milwaukeewave.com/schedule/results/?act[v]=graphical&frm[d]=2011-12-01&frm[e]=552This schedule addition probably came too late for the cell to accommodate us. It might have been fine if Graduation wasn't that weekend. Tear down soccer field -- assemble bball floor, additional risers/chairs -- tear down bball set up -- set up graduation in under 12 hrs (build stage, remove risers, add chairs) for a 9am start. That's alot to do in 72hrs.

Exams run from 12/16 to 12/23, according to the academic calendar.

The date the Panthers were trying to fill at the Cell was Dec. 15. I'm happy with Saturday night the 17th. There only thing is the New Orleans Bowl that night.

Let's be perfectly honest about this. Last year's basketball game at the Klotsche was supposed to be a barometer of alumni interest in an on-campus arena, but people turned it into a barometer of what they've thought of returning to the Klotsche Center. Two completely different things.
This should be different. Or at least fans should see it as different. Because the Cell was booked for this day, and that's why we're there - not because we're looking to gauge interest in the arena.
As for the arena itself:
The basketball arena is currently in the planning process. In Rick Costello's public presentation when he was applying for the job, he mentioned that he wants the arena to have retail and restaurant space as a part of it so fans have amenities before and after the games. So for those of you worried, I would expect that to be a part of it, as well as extra parking (though we won't need any with the 900 spaces west of the arena and 700 in the KC pavilion building right now).

I really wish they could move a few of those televised home games to the road --- notably at Detroit and at Valpo. Oh well, good to have Sutton back on board.

VMI at Ohio State is on BTN, so the Panthers are not on TV versus Michigan State. Subject to BTN.com.

Once again a huge sector of the metro market will see no Milwaukee games on television. I know our guys are getting us the best packages they can but it sure is frustrating. Does anyone know if the espn3 games will be available on HLN at least?

I would say HLN would not be on espn3.com.

It'll probably be limited to at MOST 1000, maybe even 750 students.
