Updated as of 2/24:
Another day, and another team atop the Horizon League standings. Milwaukee's victory over Cleveland State puts the Panthers as the only team in control of its destiny, No. 1 seed, hosting rights for next weekend, and at the very least a spot in the NIT.
To get the No. 1 seed:
Milwaukee 1. Win over YSU, or 2. Cleveland State and Butler losses
Butler 1. Win over Loyola and Milwaukee loss
Cleveland State 1. Win over Green Bay and Milwaukee loss and Butler loss
If Milwaukee loses and doesn't get the No. 1 seed, it can still get No. 2 should either Butler or Cleveland State lose on Saturday as well. Milwaukee would win a head-to-head tiebreaker vs. Butler, and would win a tiebreaker over Cleveland State because of Milwaukee's sweep over Butler (CSU was swept by Butler). And would win both tiebreakers should Valpo rebound to join in for a three-way tie.
Amazing, just a few days ago Valpo had complete control. Now it enters the final game on a three-game league losing streak and in the No. 4 position.
FIRST ROUND Tuesday, March 1 (at campus sites)
(10) UIC (2-15) at (3) Cleveland State (12-5), 6 p.m. (7) Green Bay (8-9) at (6) Detroit (9-8), 6 p.m. (8) Loyola (7-10) at (5) Wright State (10-7), 6 p.m. (9) Youngstown State (2-15) at (4) Valparaiso (11-6), 7 p.m.
QUARTERFINALS Friday, March 4 (at U.S. Cellular Arena, Milwaukee)
UIC-Cleveland State winner vs. Green Bay-Detroit winner, TBA Loyola-Wright State winner vs. Youngstown State-Valparaiso winner, TBA
SEMIFINALS Saturday, March 5 (at U.S. Cellular Arena, Milwaukee)
UIC-CSU-GB-Detroit vs. (2) Butler (12-5), 5 p.m. (tape-delayed on ESPNU, 9:30 p.m.) Loyola-WSU-YSU-Valpo at (1) Milwaukee (12-5), 7:30 p.m. (ESPNU)
CHAMPIONSHIP Tuesday, March 8 (at highest remaining seed)
Semifinal winners, 8 p.m. (ESPN)
*Milwaukee wins tiebreaker over Butler with season sweep (this will be HUGE in Milwaukee's favor for any tiebreaker with other teams as well). **Butler swept Cleveland State

Besides Milwaukee occupying the No. 1 spot obviously ... I really want the brackets to stay exactly like this.

That would be a great set-up for the Semi's...though kind of iffy about facing Valpo again.

Here's how good the conference is:
Any team who makes it to the semis to play us is good enough.

Cleveland State could finish as co-champions, and have to play four games to win the tourney.
The pitfalls of the conference tourney format, but thems the breaks.

If Detroit beats Wright State tonight, Detroit will be the 5 seed and Wright State will be 6 due to Detroit's sweep over Wright State.
If Wright State beats Detroit tonight, Wright State will be the 5 seed. If Green Bay then beats Cleveland State on Saturday to tie Detroit at 9-9, Green Bay will be the 6 seed and Detroit is 7.
This is because GB wins the tiebreaker due to a split with Milwaukee while Detroit was swept by Milwaukee.

Should Green Bay lose and Loyola win Saturday to tie at 8-10, this tiebreaker would come down to whether or not Valpo wins to finish tied with Butler. Both GB and Loyola split with Milwaukee and were swept by Cleveland State.
If Valpo loses -- Loyola would be the 7 seed and Green Bay would be the 8. This would be due to Loyola's split with Butler, while Green Bay was swept by Butler.
If Valpo wins -- Green Bay would be the 7 seed and Loyola would be the 8. The reasoning: - Green Bay and Loyola both would be 2-2 vs. Butler/Valpo. - Both were swept by Wright State. - Green Bay split with Detroit while Loyola was swept by Detroit.

UIC and YSU split the season series. YSU's other win is over Butler, while UIC's is over Green Bay. I think you see who has the upper hand in tiebreakers.
If UIC and YSU both finish at 2-16, YSU gets the 9 seed and UIC the 10 due to YSU's win over Butler.
If UIC beats Valpo and YSU beats Milwaukee, YSU still gets the 9 seed and UIC the 10 due to YSU's wins over Butler and Milwaukee. UIC's wins would be over Valpo and Green Bay.
YSU wins any tiebreaker with UIC.

Well Detroit just knocked off Wright st by 10 so I think Detroit is the #5 seed no matter what while Wright St is #6.
That means that Wright st will not be on our side of the bracket if we win tomorrow and get the #1 seed. Detroit could possibly meet us at the Cell though if we host.
EDIT: Mistyped I know we are playing for the #1 seed.

That means that Wright st will not be on our side of the bracket if we win tomorrow and get the #2 seed. If Milwaukee wins, it is the No. 1 seed.

I'll update the complete pairings after the Butler and CSU games.
