Wright State is three games back in the loss column, which is what matters. Yea Wright st is all but out of the running for a top 2 seed imo... They would need A LOT to happen

I think if either Cleveland State or Butler makes the championship game, they'll get in, making the Horizon League a 2-bid league. (assuming Valpo wins the tournament). Right now I have Cleveland State as one of the last four in, and Butler as one of the last four out with Valpo as a 13 seed. That Bracket Buster game WILL matter for Cleveland State as well as I have ODU in the tournament right now. The HL is, and has been, upwardly mobile...
Edit: Of course all of this is moot when Milwaukee wins the whole thing!

Norris Cole's 41-20-9 game is the best thing that could have happened to Cleveland State's at-large chances.

Even if we beat Valpo, we still have to count on Loyola and UIC to beat them... Valpo is also at GB next Monday. Much crazier things have happened.

Norris Cole's 41-20-9 game is the best thing that could have happened to Cleveland State's at-large chances. Cole got pub from Michael Smith on Around The Horn this afternoon. Smith mentioned Cole's near triple-double. Definitely good to see the HL get some respect. CSU's at large potential is tied to their performance on national TV at ODU.

"Cole got pub from Michael Smith on Around The Horn this afternoon. Smith mentioned Cole's near triple-double."
And it wasn't just a triple-double. It was college basketball's first 40-20 game since some guy named Blake Griffin registered one for Oklahoma on Feb. 14, 2009.
Say, whatever happened to that guy?

I really hope to see us and Detroit in opposite sides of the bracket. They scare me, if they get on a roll watch out. i would much rather play GB or even Butler again. Also, if we don't climb to #1 to host the finals; please Cleveland State, pick up the slack so we can all head out to Cleveland. I'm so sick of going to Indiana. If Milwaukee isn't hosting, I would prefer Valpo over CSU. My son and I can make a road trip to Valpo, not CSU.

Updated as of 2/16:
Big happenings tonight with Milwaukee's win over Valpo. It essentially put Valpo and Cleveland State in a dead heat, with Milwaukee and Butler closing fast.
Should Cleveland State and Valpo win out and finish tied, the No. 1 seed would likely come down to who finished third -- Milwaukee or Butler.
Cleveland State would have a sweep over Milwaukee (if it wins next Thursday), but be swept by Butler. Valpo split with both Milwaukee and Butler. CSU needs Milwaukee to finish ahead of Butler, while Valpo needs Butler to finish ahead of Milwaukee.
Should Milwaukee and Butler tie in the standings, you have to treat them as combined and factor in their records vs. both ... they each would be 2-2.
Therefore you move down the standings: Both swept Wright State. Valpo swept Detroit, while Cleveland State split with Detroit. Advantage Valpo.
So while technically Cleveland State is ahead in the standings by a 1/2 game, from the looks of upcoming schedules and tiebreakers, Valpo may have a slight edge.
But here's the news we all want to hear: Milwaukee's win kept the No. 1 seed hopes alive. Win out and get another Valpo loss (at GB on Monday?) and Milwaukee will be the top seed and host the quarters and semis at the Cell.
With Wright State's loss tonight, it basically ensures that Butler will finish ahead of the Raiders in the standings... therefore taking Valpo's sweep of Wright State out of any tiebreaker with Milwaukee.
Should all four teams tie at 13-5, Milwaukee wins tiebreaker with 4-2 record vs. the other teams.
The scenarios above may cause headaches and dizziness. Should symptoms persist for more than four hours, take two Midol and consult your physician.
FIRST ROUND Tuesday, March 1 (at campus sites)
(10) UIC (2-14) at (3) Milwaukee (11-5), 7 p.m. (7) Green Bay (6-9) at (6) Detroit (9-8), 6 p.m. (8) Loyola (6-10) at (5) Wright State (10-7), 6 p.m. (9) Youngstown State (2-14) at (4) Butler (11-5), 6 p.m.
QUARTERFINALS Friday, March 4 (at Cleveland)
UIC-Milwaukee winner vs. Green Bay-Detroit winner, TBA Loyola-Wright State winner vs. Youngstown State-Butler winner, TBA
SEMIFINALS Saturday, March 5 (at Cleveland)
UIC-Milw-GB-Detroit vs. (2) Valparaiso (11-4), 5 p.m. (tape-delayed on ESPNU, 9:30 p.m.) Loyola-WSU-YSU-Butler at (1) Cleveland State (12-4), 7:30 p.m. (ESPNU)
CHAMPIONSHIP Tuesday, March 8 (at highest remaining seed)

*Milwaukee wins tiebreaker over Butler with season sweep (this will be HUGE in Milwaukee's favor for any tiebreaker with other teams as well).

Lord knows our boys could use all the support we can muster for them. the tourney scenarios are just crazy right now. this is one of the very few times i will ever root for GB to win, it almost kills me to say that.

By my calculations, Milwaukee can finish no worse than the No. 4 seed.
If the Panthers lose both and end up tying Wright State at 11-7, Milwaukee wins the tiebreaker thanks to the split with Valpo (WSU was swept by Valpo) or ... you guessed it ... Milwaukee's sweep over Butler (WSU split with Butler).

I agree that cleveland would be a better trip for the band, valpo would be better for fans. But hopefully it'll be moot and we will host. I would love to see the Mecca packed to the brim, even if i do dispise fair weather faTs.

UWM desperately needs to lock up the 2 or 3 seed... it makes the road so much easier.

Win out and we guarantee the 2 seed. That's all we need to be concerned with.

Updated as of 2/21:
Even though Milwaukee is technically the No. 3 seed right now a half-game behind Butler but even in the loss column (with tiebreaker in hand), the Panthers and Cleveland State both control their own destiny for the No. 1 seed. Butler will need help.
Valpo, on the other hand, get ready for a Tuesday first-round game at home. How quickly the tables turn in five days.
In order to get the No. 1 seed (by my quick calculations):
Cleveland State: 1. Beat Milwaukee and Green Bay, or ... 2. Beat Milwaukee, lose to GB, Butler loses to Loyola, or ... 3. Lose to Milwaukee, beat GB, Milwaukee loses to YSU, Butler loses to Loyola
Milwaukee: 1. Beat Cleveland State and Youngstown State, or ... 2. Beat Cleveland State, lose to Youngstown State, CSU loses to GB, Butler loses to Loyola
Butler 1. Beat Loyola, one Milwaukee loss, and one Cleveland State loss
Valparaiso Still alive but many variables that all need to happen.
FIRST ROUND Tuesday, March 1 (at campus sites)
(10) UIC (2-15) at (3) Valparaiso (11-5), 7 p.m. (7) Green Bay (7-9) at (6) Detroit (9-8), 6 p.m. (8) Loyola (6-10) at (5) Wright State (10-7), 6 p.m. (9) Youngstown State (2-14) at (4) Milwaukee (11-5), 6 p.m.
QUARTERFINALS Friday, March 4 (at Cleveland)
UIC-Valpo winner vs. Green Bay-Detroit winner, TBA Loyola-Wright State winner vs. Youngstown State-Milwaukee winner, TBA
SEMIFINALS Saturday, March 5 (at Cleveland)
UIC-Valpo-GB-Detroit vs. (2) Butler (12-5), 5 p.m. (tape-delayed on ESPNU, 9:30 p.m.) Loyola-WSU-YSU-Milwaukee at (1) Cleveland State (12-4), 7:30 p.m. (ESPNU)
CHAMPIONSHIP Tuesday, March 8 (at highest remaining seed)
Semifinal winners, 8 p.m. (ESPN)
*Milwaukee wins tiebreaker over Butler with season sweep (this will be HUGE in Milwaukee's favor for any tiebreaker with other teams as well).
**Butler swept Cleveland State
