Milwaukee is currently the 4 seed because of their lack of a win against Cleveland State (Valpo is 1-1, we're 0-1).

Irrelevant.

Well, if we're projecting tournament pairings, we might as well get them right. (no offense to Hack)

Oh, it's relevant. The 3 seed doesn't have a true road game until the finals (and it may luck out and have one then anyway if the 1 seed also loses). The 4 seed needs to go to the 1 seed's building and beat them should it get to the semis.

It's irrelevant because where we stand at this minute is subject to change.

No doubt, but a loss to CSU gives Valpo a big edge on Milwaukee (they'd be 1-1, we'd be 0-2 against the Vikes). That could easily give us the 4 spot. There will be some shaking out, but it's entirely relevant to talk about the different ways things can go.

Very true... No. 1 or No. 4 seeds are the most logical spots for Milwaukee to end up in.
Of course, logic has been thrown way out the door in the league this year.

Obviously, Valpo's loss opens the door for our guys to do something spectacular, but if they don't beat CSU and YSU it's unfortunate that the tournament will almost certainly end up in Cleveland. Valpo is an easy trip for Milwaukee fans. Cleveland, not so much.

We're playing for the title on Thursday. No more, no less.

From a stand point of where Milwaukee has a better chance of winning, I would prefer the tourney is held in Cleveland as opposed to Valpo if we would have to play the #1 seed. Of course playing in Milwaukee would be nice.

Well technically, we're playing for the ability to keep playing for the title, bp, but I understand your point.

What we're playing for Thursday is a much better chance at - home court throughout the HL tournament, at least an NIT bid, and the HL regular season title. YSU ruined Butler's weekend, they can ruin our season (though I wouldn't bet on it).
I'd rather go to Valpo than Cleveland, same reasons as Fran.

Butler walking into Youngstown State had a lot less to play for - they still had a decent at-large profile, they were close to the top of the conference with several weeks to play.
Milwaukee, with a win over Cleveland State, would walk into Youngstown State with two outcomes: win and we reach our goals, lose and we don't.

Again, I would put the Panthers as heavy favorites over YSU, I was just debunking the notion that CSU is the title game. It's not. We'd need to handle our business in Youngstown (not pull one of our groaners) and then use The Cell to our full advantage and win the HL tourney. CSU is a huge rung of the ladder, but it is not a title game.
