What an exciting game. Kudos to the Valpo fans and student section. They were loud throughout the entire game, which definitely put a little spark into our students. That's the kind of atmosphere I love seeing at a college game!
As far as the game goes, without Ryan Allen covering Brandon Wood I think he'd have gone off for 30+. That guy can shoot. Hopefully Ryan's tailbone is feeling better in time for CSU next week. Because we need a good defender like that to be all over Cole. Also, how important is Kaylon to our team? When he didn't come out at halftime for warmups, I gave up on our chance to come back. He just has that natural ability to find guys and get them open looks. A point guard like him should be priority #1 for any coach when recruiting. He has been the difference maker this season.
Great to see the seniors go out with a win. I still find it hard to believe that was the last regular season game. I feel like the season is just starting. It's now time to get business done away from The Cell. A win over CSU and YSU gives us that double-bye we haven't been able to enjoy in quite a while. As much talent as this team has and as well as they're playing - I don't think they can win the tourney without it. Playing 2 extra games wears a team down, and the HL is such a good league that 6, 7, & 8 seeds can knock off top seeds at any moment.
That loss to Loyola at home is going to haunt me for a while, knowing that we could be in 1st right now. But, every team has a game like that during the season that comes back to bite them. Let's hope we can ride the momentum and pick up a HUGE win Thursday on the road.
I believe in this team.

What a fantastic atmosphere last night... nice crowd.. great student section... maybe the most entertaining regular season home game in some years. Team showed great fortitude. It reminded me of how great things could be at the Cell years back and we are getting steadily back to that and hopefully in the long term even higher. The GB and Valpo games had great vibes and made me a little more open to staying at the Cell if we get more favorable terms and the on campus thing does not work out. If we could average the size crowds we had for those two games and once in awhile pack in 6 - 8 for the bigger games that would be awesome but I digress....what a great night of the Seniors.. Got to say Tone Boyle played like a man possessed on both ends of the court....one of the most determined and gutsiest performances I have seen . Back to the entertainment value... just a great atmosphere... Cell was rocking...Pep band great. video and sound a lot of fun...does not get much better....

Per Bill Potter of the Horizon League:
Milwaukee's win last night bumped them into the top 100 in RPI. Panthers are 99th, the 4th Horizon League team in the top 100

Yeah my first year Joah Tucker had a break away and layed it up, Rob Sanders ran up to him and said it would have been 5. I remember Joah saying sorry after the game.

I know one team that is happy we're winning: Marquette.
Nothing against AT, but I thought O'Connor did one of the best color jobs I've heard since Jim Spanarkle in the 2005 NCAA's. I would like to hear much more of him.
Most entertaining Panther game I've seen since the Marquette game. Guys are playing to their ability and they're playing with confidence. Jeter had a nice offense-defense thing going on with Hill and Haggerty at the end. And I like how he's tightened the rotation and guys pretty much know their roles.
Not much not to like right now.

As long as we are talking about color analysts have to throw a shout out to Fran for his Color work with Bill on the recent broadcast. I was home with the flu listening to the broadcast and it was great... Fran, your dry style fit really well with Bill and you really had some excellent technical basketball insights . There were a couple times one in particular where you just came in out of left field with some real dry wit and Bill just cracked up. It was great....not saying you should quite your day job but based on the that I think you have another potential career... Steve
