It seemed like things were drastically better when we had two forwards in. Four guards is fine, but you've got to then use speed to win, and they were playing slow methodical ball. Great shooting night for Tone. Hopefully Ant's eye is okay, thanks for the info. In the first half, we could've gotten better refereeing from a random collection of foot locker employees, although they improved in the 2nd half including some make up calls.
The attendance was again pathetic. Again, I understand people have other stuff going on. It's the last Saturday before Christmas; plus people have work, school and the like. But for it to be that empty there is unacceptable. As Fran noted, they need our support. Those of you who missed this game of your own volition are not helping the team. Complaining about their lack of effort while not giving them the effort of showing up?? Good luck with that.

The refs were completely out of wack too...and I wasn't the only one thinking that...listened to the radio near the end...Johnson didn't like the refs either. "That is (Bowling Green player, can't remember his name)'s 4th official foul...but he should have 11." idk...i'll preface this with: i didn't see most of the game...but i heard that quote i laughed...frankly, bill's a total homer...as a panther fan i have no issue with it...but he ALWAYS complains about the officiating if it goes against the panthers, regardless of whether or not the same calls are going the other way

I didn't listen to Bill because I was at the game. Some of the ref calls were unbelievable. One person near me said "The ref must be blind" when they gave the ball back to Bowling Green right after the Bowling Green player fell out of the court WITH THE BALL IN HIS ARMS.
Fouls are subjective -- even the defensive foul called on Kelm when he clearly was stationary as the Bowling Green player charged him could be a matter of defining "what's an offensive foul?" But some of the calls last night were more like "what are the rules again?" since there didn't seem to be any explanation for calls that turned the ball over to Bowling Green.
On a totally unrelated topic, does anyone know the name of the choral music in the opening Panther video? I keep thinking I must have heard it before, but I can't remember where.

I was unaware that purchasing Bucks tickets three months ago is akin to a "boycott" of UWM. That's interesting. Will I then be boycotting the Bucks when I have UWM tickets next month?
Quit with this crap of the team really needs the fans. What they need is to play to their ability and for their coach to figure it out before another season ends in mediocrity.

I also didn't listen to Bill Johnson because I was at the game. There are always going to be bad calls but to say the officials are out of wack is ridiculous. There were calls that went against the Panthers as there were calls that went the Panthers way. Myself and the fans sitting above me who I did not know but could overhear, saw at least four second half scoring possessions totaling ten points in which a Panther appeared to travel. Overall officiating wasn't a significant factor in this game.

The paid crowd was almost 2600 for the game.
If people don't show up, they don't show up. It doesn't mean they don't support the Panthers.

The number reported for attendance is always inflated.

I bought season tickets knowing that I wouldn't attend every game. The whole "I'm a better fan than you" crap really gets old quick. I think it's safe to say that anyone on this board is sufficiently "supporting" this team.

Yeah, I'm really beating myself up today because after driving six hours on Tuesday, I didn't drive back down to attend last night's epic battle. I shall now light myself on fire.

Read the JS article on the game. Sounds like there is something more than just a sore eye that had Hill benched. Heard someone say it was because he had been missing either a practice or a few practices. Something to keep an eye on.

Another stinker by the panthers, but a win is a win. (kind of) With this team a loss on occasion is a win as well. Ant didn't play, and I believe that would have accounted for at least a 10 point difference. (sure couldn't have hurt the beating we took on the defensive glass) . Ummm, we won't be able to count on Tone shooting hot from 3 at the end to snatch a victory away very often. Its going to be interesting to say the least when Butler comes to town, but I'll likely be there for the players. Again I can't begrudge ANYONE for not attending. It was not inspired basketball save for the last 10 minutes, but again it could have been worse.

I would hope that the Christmas party I went to yesterday instead of the game means I can still be a fan.

So, is there no official word on Anthony Hill? I've looked for any sort of update on it, but have had no luck finding it. Is there any reason to believe he won't be back after the long break? Not knowing is driving me crazy...

I tune into UWM games just because Johnson makes me laugh. Don't take this personally, but he's much more entertaining when the Panthers are losing.
