Conference season! Our record to this point is henceforth irrelevant! All I can say is that we better not look past this game to Cleveland State. Youngstown State is 4-1. And although the teams they've played haven't been particularly impressive -- they beat PMCK and the Rockets by 3 -- they've got to be at the least a very confident team.

I would be shocked if that happened. I expect a win by 10 points. YS has not played anyone of any consequence and lost the only road game they had.

Yeah well -- Western Michigan.

From what I've observed, Jerry Slocum executed a near-spotless housecleaning during the past offseason and has overhauled the program's character and attitude. I don't expect any easy games the rest of the way, excluding perhaps the Bowling Green game on Dec. 18.

I understand. I was at that game. It was horrible. Waste of a nice, close seat. I believe in this team. My prediction stands!!!

YSU is not to be messed with.

If we learned anything from the Western Michigan game, it's that this team shouldn't enter any game taking anyone or anything for granted.

I think that game was an anomaly and we should all just forget about it and stop talking about it.
After Saturday I think we are back on the right track. I expect at least a 10 point win over the improved Youngstown team.

Wipe the slate clean -- the real season begins now. Take the lessons we learned about intensity and focus and move forward. Rob has a pretty good idea now who he can trust to make good decisions out there, and I expect we'll see the rotation adjusted accordingly.

YSU may turn out to be the same old Penguins, but that can't be expected. Depends on which of our teams shows up. The one that played at Niagara or the one that played WMU. I'd love to look back at the latter as an anomaly, but I'll believe it when I see it. I'll say MKE 81, YSU 69. Close first half with the Panthers depth pulling them away late.

Saturday was a microcosm of the season thus far:
Hot and Cold. Good and Bad. Smart and Dumb.
We need to prove that we can perform consistently before I take any team for granted. We have certainly showed the ability to blow a team like Youngstown out of the water. We have also shown the ability to lose to a team like them as well.
The season is just getting started, and I am confident that we can and will develop that consistency. I just think it's premature to suggest that we have it. The proof, as they say, is in the pudding.

This being a Horizon League game will help not make it the Western Michigan game.

Saturday was a microcosm of the season thus far: Hot and Cold. Good and Bad. Smart and Dumb. I would say that performance, coupled with the performance vs. WMU, are a micrcosm of most of Jeter's tenure. Consistently inconsistent. Trying to divine how the team will do against any particular opponent is a fool's game.
