I agree with most of what was said here overall regarding the individual players.
I disagree with Fran though. I wasn't at the scrimmage but I was impressed with this game as was my somewhat pessimistic partner. There were some instances of sloppy ball handling but overall, I think we looked like a good team should look when playing an very over matched opponent.
The team seemed to be focused. I could be wrong but it seemed that they moved the ball up court much quicker than has been the case in the past. I liked the intensity they played with and I noted that the players seemed to be unselfish, passing off to the guy with the best chance to make the shot.
Yeah it was MSOE but what I saw was much better than we've seen in some exhibition games in the past.

Very nice observation on Kyle, though I can't say for certain that he wasn't an aggressive, physical player in high school but with a slighter build. He looked to be a bona fide 6-9, 230.
Regarding Mitchell, I expect to see him in mostly short bursts whether he's healthy or not. His listed 6-11, 275 is definitely not a "program size." What I notice about him is that he's as big as a mountain.

As I understand it, one of the knocks on Kelm was that he lived on the 3-point line a bit too much in high school. That certainly does not seem to be the case now.

Nice grammar correction.

One thing I noticed is that Kaylon seemed hesitant to pull the trigger on any open look he had at a 3. Is he not a very good shooter? I know he has that pass first mentality, but that skill will be much more effective if he can prove that he's a legitimate threat from beyond the arc. We need to keep defenses guessing... and if they know he won't take the open look, it'll be a pretty easy guess.

Good game overall. I thought MSOE got the ball to easy to the paint and missed easy shots. I'm worried about J'Rob as the back-up point guard. I hope Carroll is a way better team than MSOE, to give the Panthers a better test on Saturday.

Didn't Kaylon shoot 37 percent from 3-point range a year ago?
I think that he's a capable shooter, but instead elected to focus on driving and passing in the first exhibition. In truth, KW should have had at least 10 assists, but some general sloppiness in finishing prevented him from doing so. Love his pump fakes in the paint.
In short, I would give the roster a B-plus but the team's performance about a C-minus.

I don't think Ja'Rob is the backup PG. At least not the first backup.

Attendance-1,690
That seems to be low? Last season, no game was under 2,000. I was told season-ticket holders from last season are back, plus new one's for the 2 for 1 deal. It always goes by paid crowd. I'm wondering how they got that number? Are they not counting the students at the KC?

Actually I'm surprised it was that high. It looked like around 1,000 to me. This certainly doesn't make the case for moving the games back to campus.

Your going to use a exhibition game against MSOE on a Monday night to make that argument. I really wouldn't pay attention to the attendance for the 2 home exhibition games. If the Western Michigan game has terrible attendance then you might have a point.

I can't imagine anyone expected a couple of exhibition games to reveal much about the desire to play in the Klotsche Center. I imagine the Western Michigan will tell far more about that topic...

Yes it was an Exhibition, but it was also the unveiling of this year's team. One would have thought that alone would be enough for more people to turn out. I didn't think it would be packed but I did think there were be more people there.
While I didn't go last year's Exhibitions I did go the the Exhibition games the year before and I believe there were more people for those games at the Cell than I saw at the Klotsche last night.

Can you folks imagine what last night's crowd would have looked like in The Cell?
It could have been branded as Friends and Family Only Night. Actually, players going into the stands immediately after the game conjured memories of the Steve Antrim and Bo Ryan Eras.
The problem, of course, is with the facility rather than the location.
