Why would we need an administrator? Cause he's the anti-Koonce? We need a guy who is going to come in, get EVERYONE in athletics on the same page. The politicking needs to end. If you're here, you're with us. That should be the driving motto right now. And there needs to be serious communication within the program; basketball and SID need to communicate, marketing and development need to communicate we need to make sure we've got everyone going full steam ahead. Polish up your resume, Jimmy

IMO opinion they should create a position as Head of Mens Basketball marketing and Jimmy should be it....if not overall Director of Athletics Marketing...no one would be more dedicated or passionate...\

Definitely clarifies haha.
I think I wouldn't even need a second to think about taking a job entitled "Head of Men's Basketball Marketing"

The position needs all these emphases. Someone with management experience able to coordinate the various functions and people in the department and able and willing to apply good judgment to make necessary decisions, even unpopular decisions; someone willing and able to communicate not just with the current donors and other supporters but also the people in this community who could be and would be donors and supporters if approached and encouraged; someone to articulate high standards and goals for the department; someone who has the respect of the wider community, including the political community, so that he or she can create a broader consensus rather than be stalemated by parochial interests; and someone passionate about Milwaukee, its great urban public University and the tremendously important role athletics can play for every constituent of the University. And fundamentally, someone dedicated to the task at hand.
There are people who fit that bill.

Someone got beef.
9515052 - Apr 22, 2010 4:24 PM ยป Report abuse 1 1 Click thumb to rate 1 1 Please login to rate Seriously Don, using Jimmy Lemke as your "source familiar with UWM Athletics." That guy has an axe to grind, and is the biggest supporter of Bud Haidet and the do-nothing, status-quo, make no advancement mentality in UWM Athletics. Jimmy is such close friends with Kathy Litzau he might as well be sleeping with her, and Litzau hates Koonce for having a vision and getting things done, something Litzau and Haidet were unable to do for YEARS. Koonce got movement on things in months, and Litzau resents him for it and is literally fabricating stories to get rid of Koonce. She wants someone who will let her take 3 hour lunch breaks and not do anything to help move Panther Athletics forward.
But hey, go ahead, listen to Lemke and Litzau, and pretend that they don't have an axe to grind. The two of them are involved in Panther Athletics more for themselves then for the program anyway. They're the two most self-serving pieces of crap I know, but hey, continue to quote them. That's a great journalistic decision.

Jimmy was a blind, unflinching supporter of Bud Haidet?
Really?
Brad Carroll maybe. Possibly Sam Mauldin. But not Bud Haidet.

That was very, very, very low. I don't even know how to respond to something like that.
Good catch, Tommy.

As far as being a "source" on that story, obviously it wasn't me. Why would I go to Don Walker when I AM the sports editor for the Post? What, I don't want to break the story myself?
In fact, I haven't talked to Don Walker since he called me when I broke the story on the basketball arena.
This is both embarrassing and infuriating.
