Let the search for a new head coach begin! Hopefully we can get a coach who has some heart and some Panther Pride, cause we have been missing that for the last 5 years! Who's the best choice to restore some pride to Panther basketball?

I have been as critical of Jeter as anyone but after the surge this team saw to end the year, the new and returning parts in place for next year and his salary there is no way there is a new coach next year.
The only thing Koonce should be telling Jeter this off season is to get a juco point guard and to spend some quality time with the alumni to start raising money for the on campus arena.

Jeter has been making some great progress and I wouldn't want to replace him just yet...

Actually, there's a good possibility that one of the two people mentioned above will not last the summer.
You want a hint, or can you figure it out?

I've been one of the biggest critics of Jeter since Day 1.....but my attitude has changed a bit. I really resent your comments about Jeter not having any heart or pride. Jennro..tonight's loss had nothing to do with coaching. If Jeter and his staff didn't have any heart or pride, we would have lost by 30. Shut up and go away!

Replacing a 20-win coach is a stupid idea. Don't be retarded.
A) There's no guarantee that we'll get a coach of his quality. UWM is on a run of three consecutive exceptional coaching hires. Fate eventually wins out.
B) Outgoing coaches regularly take recruits with them. If Jeter leaves, three or four players might depart with him or go somewhere else based on the treatment the university has granted to their coach and mentor.
C) HE WON 20 GAMES.
D) See C
E) See D

But if he had a team that could actually make some free throws, how many more would we have won?

What we saw this year is the best you'll get under Jeter. His system is just not the style that his level of recruit wants to play. You need to score easy points once in a while, when we have a fast break opp, we turn our backs and slow down. ALso the reason the fans stay away, just not fun to watch. This system works for Bo because he can get the recruits that fit into the system.

Some addition context to refute your bone-headed statement. In the history of UWM basketball there have been nine 20-win seasons. Jeter has two of them.

I guess you only want to see opinions of people who agree with you. This is supposed to be a discussion board, where people "discuss" opposing viewpoints! I find it totally rude that someone wants to delete my opinion just because they don't share it. If you don't like it, why are you reading and posting to it?

Great first post. Rob doesn't even play the same system as Bo, for pity's sake. Where were you last night when we scored 80?

Is there a system being played? A lot of what I saw this year was playground basketball out of our point guards. Occasionally I saw the post up. I would like to see a definitive offense, utilize the fast break, don't have your players be scared to shoot or dunk. I have been pleasantly surprised by the fire the team showed down the stretch and the run they made to get 20 wins. I would just like to see a more exciting style of play on the court. The hold the ball until 10 secs on the shot clock is very very boring. When we do take a quick shot, it's a very low percentage play.
It'll be interesting to see how the summer plays out and if any gains are made with the current roster as well as the incoming players.

The hold the ball until 10 secs on the shot clock is very very boring. I hate this line of logic. If it wins games, who gives a damn how exciting it is? Winning is entertaining. Besides, UWM scored the third-most points per game in the league this season. So, you know, you're wrong anyway.

But if he had a team that could actually make some free throws, how many more would we have won? So his players can't make free throws, you want to fire the coach.
