Jennro.... let's just agree to disagree. As I stated before, you are in the minority here. You can hope for a new head coach all you want but you're not going to get it... nor should you. I'm glad you're a season ticket holder, and I hope that you continue to be one in the future. I just hope that you eventually realize that Jeter is a good coach and if it weren't for Butler being ranked #10 in the country, we would be 1 game away from returning to the big dance. With freshman like Ja'Rob, Boga, Hags, Souter, and Walker (plus newcomers like Richards, Leek, & Carter) we are in good shape for next year too.

I think we should hire Tod Kowalczyk immediately. He could be available soon. Now, there's a guy who knows how to consistently finish in the top four of a mid-major league. Or Jimmy Collins. He's taken three teams to NCAA tournaments and is a great and noble coach. Just ask his AD, Jim Schmidt.

It is fine that we disagree, but why do I have to be the minorty? I started the thread to talk with people that feel the same as I do. I don't mind people who disagree with me. What I do not appreciate is that all I have done is get called names and yelled at for my opinion. The reason I continue to be a season ticket holder is because I am a Panther fan, not a Jeter fan. I stay in hopes of returning to the excitement that the team used to have. Since the coaching change, there are less people in the seats. The games are more frustrating and less fun. I am concerned that the lack of fans will have a negative impact on the program. All I am saying is that is corelation I saw. I have been waiting to say this all season, it's just now the time I think to start looking.

SuperKing: Then how do you account for the 50-some other Tournament teams WHO DON'T SCORE 80 POINTS A GAME?
Score points, play good defense, don't turnover the ball, make the best of scoring chances (plays and free throws), sometimes luck. We weren't very good at times with the turnovers and the free throws, but sometimes we got lucky.
I just know if you score more points than the other team you win the game...
Is that wrong? Wouldn't that be a good goal to strive for?

That is truly zen-like in its wisdom fresh. Score more points than the opponent. I'll pass that on to Rob the next time I see him. No doubt it will come as a revelation to him.
Time to go to bed. This discussion is making my brain hurt.

Let the search for a new head coach begin! Hopefully we can get a coach who has some heart and some Panther Pride, cause we have been missing that for the last 5 years! Who's the best choice to restore some pride to Panther basketball? God I love the Jeter haters. They couldn't be more entertaining/ignorant ;D For all those who want Jeter gone ASAP, I've asked this question several times before and yet all of you conveniently continuously ignore it... HOW DO WE PAY FOR JETER'S BUYOUT AND A NEW STAFF SIMULTANEOUSLY? I eagerly await to see if anyone actually has a plan as opposed to the broken record of neverending b****ing.

Fran, I was responding to Super King who was questioning why I would want to see our team play more of an uptempo offense and score more points per game. I think the team did a great job down the stretch and last night's game against Cleveland was great...at least when we had a good cushion - a little more nerve wracking late when they closed the gap...but they won.
Just pointing out what I thought were keys as to why the other 50 teams in the tourney who don't score 80 ish ppg were there and successful.

If you think Rob Jeter doesn't absolutely burn with competitiveness I don't know what to tell you. It's pretty obvious she knows practically nothing about Jeter and has an incredibly naive memory of Bruce.

Progress. It's 9/14/17/20 in the record books. But progress is measured in other ways.
I've seen this program grow through the players involved. Today, in a typical Milwaukee practice, there is leadership among returners. The coaches instruct and give direction but the players take ownership.
In the last three years, a ground floor has been laid down. You could bring in any personality you want and that personality would never affect the program's positive direction.
Look at your returners. Look at your recruiting class. Look at 20 wins and the effort they put forth. Never ever look back. This program is only looking forward.

Why is it that all the people who disagree with me feel the need to insult me just because I don't share their opinion? I understand that there are people who don't agree with me, but why is it that because you can't change my mind I have to be called names? It is my opinion and I have never said that it is anything else. I am expressing my persepctive on the coaching staff. Calling me names sure would never change my mind.

I wouldn't answer questions from people who resort to calling me names just because I don't agree with them. So you're saying you DO have an answer if I apologize and remove the previous comments?

I haven't called you anything negative. Tell me, Jennro, if not them. What is your plan to replace this coach and pay for the whole new coaching staff?
By the way, this coach who worked hard to get some of Bruce's players to graduate so our APR didn't go in the can, because that's where it was heading.
Now, this is my only requirement if you plan on firing coach Jeter and his staff (which I am firmly against):
The coach and staff you hire have to be measurably better, enough to justify buying out a coach who has built a sustaining program. So, not only do you need to find the 2.4 million to buy out Jeter, but you have to pay his staff. THEN, you need to hire someone who is that much better so you don't end up with "more of the same."
