South Dakota State is a very good basketball team. 17-9, 9-6, and still 5 games out of first place because of how incredible Oakland is this year.
Although holy sh*t, they lost to Western Michigan too. And holy double sh*t, Western Michigan is suddenly leading the Mid-American West.

Well if we want to help our seeding should we make the NCAA's we will need to improve SOS. Marquette, Wisconsin, Florida Atlantic, Niagara, Western Michigan all won today so add a 5-0 to our SOS

We have the third-highest SOS in the Horizon League as it stands

We have the third-highest SOS in the Horizon League as it stands Thats what hurt teams like Cleveland St. for an at large. Horizon is a really tough conference to schedule in. I can see why, I wouldn't take anything less than a 2 for 1. Getting into the early season tournaments like Butler has done is the key to getting neutral court games against good opponents.

Exactly buppie, I've always been a believer in playing a tough non-conference schedule. It prepares you for the conference season. It's no coincidence that the teams that truly test themselves in November and December do better in March (at every level) than the ones that focus on easy wins and home games.

Cleveland State's SOS is 108 according to RealTimeRPI. We're 107.

If we take care of business in the conference tourney, we will end up with a 13 or 14 seed. And get a team that we can beat on a neutral court.

Western Michigan suspends Flenard Whitfield for unsportsmanlike conduct sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=6179354Western Michigan, FYI, is now 18-11 overall and 10-5 in the MAC, good for for first place in the Western division with one game to play in the regular season. They're top 100 in the nation in points (81st) and rebounds (68th). That loss is looking a little less embarrassing as time goes on.
