CSU/Ohio State is like UWM/Wisconsin. It's an in-state game. As for why Loyola and UIC play good teams....see BBFran. What? CSU and OSU is not like UWM and Wisconsin at all, other than them being in the state of Ohio. CSU and Ohio State don't ever play. CSU and OSU played this year.

Why do you think CSU-OSU is any different than UW-UWM? The only reason they don't play more regularly is that there are, if I'm not mistaken, 9 mid-major D1 programs in the state of Ohio -- and that's if you don't count Xavier and Dayton. OSU obviously cannot play all or even a plurality of them in any given year. Wisconsin has only two mids, which makes it entirely feasible for the two high majors to play them every year -- not that MU does, of course.
Edit: Actually, I was mistaken. I originally said 8 mids and then realized there were 9.

CSU and OSU have played only 8 times and this year was the first meeting since 1994. Wisconsin and UWM play every year. I would say that is how those two series are different.

Because there are so many teams in Ohio. Did you not read BlackPanther's post? The point is that Ohio State played CSU this year precisely because they're an in-state D-1 team. Which is the exact same reason Wisconsin plays UWM. Ohio State can't play every D-1 team in Ohio every season, but they make sure they get around to all of them every few years.

OSU playing CSU for the first time since 1994 can't be like UW and UWM, who play every year. I don't know how to say it any different.
We are off topic here anyways, the subject was first if UWM needs the money why don't they find a BCS school for a nice paycheck game.

We are off topic here anyways, the subject was first if UWM needs the money why don't they find a BCS school for a nice paycheck game. Because we're too good for buy games. As Fran pointed out in an easier post, why would a high-major team want to pay a dangerous mid-major tens of thousands of dollars in a game they might lose? There are 200 mid and low-majors that are below us on the totem pole, and at schools outside the area, they would draw the same as us. So those high-majors are more likely to play a team below us because they have a much higher chance to beat the University of Vermont-Montpelier Western State University (UVMWSU) than they do us, who draw the same interest as Milwaukee.

No kidding. You don't need to tell me any of that. I know all of that. Didn't we all go though all of this last summer about UWM filling in there final two home game with D2 schools.
Just try to get a BCS school, in which UWM is trying to do. They are looking for a 2 for 1.
I know these are not BCS schools, but are you telling me UWM can't get a game at Dayton, Memphis or Temple? Those would be nice paycheck games. I don't think UWM is looking for that. They want a return game.

I don't think that Memphis, Dayton, or Temple would pay Milwaukee to play them. Same reasons as the teams in BCS conferences.
What was the last game that was a true buy game? Anyone remember? I'm discounting the MU and UW series because they were part of overall series and were added so the high-majors could get another home game.
I don't have time to look back.

Kansas would be cool... Great recognition if we were to go play them...
Just curious though is there any word on whether we are choosing to play Niagra next year or the year after due to Bracketbuster changes...

Kansas and Purdue in 2005
I don't think UWM is looking for a "pay game" since they play two BCS schools already in MU and UW. Could of been three in LSU in the NIT. Last year they also played Iowa State.

Well, we didn't help our case by beating Purdue. That game was SWEET! ;D ;D ;D One of the best games I was ever at ... probably because I got to witness the beatdown of a Big Ten team right while sitting in the row behind the UWM bench.
