In your list I would say DePaul is good not bad. Forget the RPI.
It's the HL beating a Big East school, if that happens.

Now a traditionally bad team, DePaul is a very good opponent for the Panthers.

I love what I see of recent recruiting and the apparent direction of the program under Rob. He's seemingly turned the program around since midway through the 2007-08 season.
Here's what I would love to hear him say about the 2010-11 schedule:
"Our non-conference schedule was devised with the idea of putting us in the best possible position for postseason play. That's the goal here, the same as it is every year.
"We schedule these games with the idea of taking on the best and beating the best."

At least this year we only have 3 home games during the winter break. Now let's try to get at LEAST more than our usual 50-60 student fans a game.

Amen Tyrunner... speaking of, I'm curious how they plan to handle the student section during the WMU game? According to the ticketing website, students are only allotted the small endzone section (bleachers). If this is in fact a game that's supposed to drum up on-campus student interest, you better plan for success! Give the students the entire length of the court, opposite the chairbacks. With the intimate setting, may as well take a lesson from how Duke does things.

With a new coach, who know how good they can be.

UIC's big win against Oregon St. last year sure did garner them a lot of praise. I dunno about everyone else, but I believe the panthers could make the NIT or NCAA tourny based on their regular season profile, if the team plays to their maximum potential. Therefore, I wouldn't have mind seeing Depaul left off the schedule, and anyone else who may possess a poor RPI. No Iowa a much bigger stepping stone to our goals IMO

Just win. That's ultimately all that matters, whether it's South Dakota State or Marquette.
A program is never hurt as much by a win as by a loss.
DePaul's a stepping stone, just like WMU, Bowling Green, Northern Iowa, Niagara, Marquette, Wisconsin, Portland, UC Davis and all the games in between.

I love the fact that DePaul will be coming to the Cell in the years to come. The RPI is way to overrated.

Ken Pomeroy's ratings are much better, which have DePaul at a 172.
And of course the MU fan would say they're better, the Blue Demons BEAT the Goldfwlkncawnec last year.
In this instance, I agree. DePaul was better than their record indicates.

Nevermind MU, DePaul has close losses to Syracuse, Tennessee, Louisville and St.John's.
If everyone says they suck so bad, the Panthers should win at DePaul? I would say DePaul is a 7 point favorite when they play UWM.

We have far better bigs in this matchup...Let's just say, I like our chances.
