Kyle told us at the last game that he's 6-9 1/2, 230 pounds. Let's go with that.

He needs to go on a diet if he's going to replace Jason McCoy as the point man on top of the press. ;D

Randolph's performance today against Royall was a clinic on how to attack the zone, finding the soft corner. I can't say enough about the preparation and coaching of Bob Haffele. A real pleasure to watch.

I'm going Saturday.
Imagine how Beartrap feels - loves Milwaukee, but went to N.E.W. Lutheran, who play Kelm in the title game on Saturday.

I noticed in the JS this morning that Ben Mills was called "arguably Wisconsin's best (high school) big man." I beg to differ.

Saw that, too. I think the statement is quite worthy of argument.

Triton Alexander verbals to NDSU By BRADY JOHNSON, Messenger Sports Writer POSTED: March 19, 2010 Advertisement When Kurt Alexander signed to play basketball for Dennis Pilcher at Iowa Central, it was almost exclusively because the Triton staff was the only one willing to give him a chance.
After two stellar seasons here, all of that changed for the 6-foot-2 guard from Ontario, Canada when his recruiting picture began to take shape again.
Alexander made a verbal commitment to play basketball for Div. I North Dakota State University recently. Northern Iowa, Iowa, Illinois, North Dakota, Wichita State, Wisconsin Milwaukee, Southern Illinois, California Northridge and Creighton were also considering Alexander.
"They're a great program looking for a capable guard that can create plays and knock down shots, and they got one," said Pilcher. "I think it should be a great fit for Kurt, and we wish him the best."
Alexander led the Tritons in scoring and stood atop the ICCAC standings in individual scoring this season with 19 points per game. A 43-point explosion from Alexander against Kirkwood on Feb. 10 helped put his name on the map.
"Kurt had a tremendous season," said Pilcher. "Players that truly are good make their teammates better, and he did that.
"He worked hard all year, and everything just fell in place."
The Tritons were the only school to offer Alexander out of Pine Ridge Secondary School. Pilcher found out about Alexander through Pine Ridge head basketball coach Jason McKenzie, and Alexander signed before even making a visit all the way from Canada to Fort Dodge.
"Kurt came down here after we were the only school looking at him," said Pilcher. "Now a lot of schools wants him. Even Illinois was asking about him just the other day.
"That's quite a success story, and one that he earned."
North Dakota State made it to the NCAA tournament two years ago. The Bison finished 11-18 overall this season.
Former St. Edmond all-stater Andy Nagel is also on the NDSU roster.

I didn't know this one by name. I know he's not our #1 target. Doesn't say we had an offer on him.
Good for Saul, Danny and Will.

Thats an easy one going for my high school to win, but i dont think they can handle a guy who is 6'10" but after not seeing N.E.W. play until thursday anything can happen, and im just glad that the blazers can go home with some hardware

Be sure to keep an eye on Kyle's post passing and the timing he exhibits on his shot-blocking.

Watching the game. Kyle is highly skilled. He has the chance to be very good for us down the road. He sees the floor and understands the game. Great team player. He must have a half dozen assists already. Can put the ball on the floor, too. Polar opposite of a big "stiff."

Wow. They just put a stat up -- Kyle Kelm, at 6'10, now has the all-time assist record for the D4 tournament.
This kid was a super recruit by Rob and the staff.

BBFran, how did Kelm look in the paint? That's been the one remaining criticism of his game.
