MARKESAN -- Kyle Kelm, a 6-foot-10 UW-Milwaukee recruit, scored 20 points Saturday to lead the Randolph High School boys basketball team to a 56-41 victory over Waupun Central Wisconsin Christian in a WIAA Division 4 regional final held at Markesan High School.
Kelm, a senior center who averages 19.7 points per game, scored nine second-quarter points as the Rockets raced from a 12-all first-quarter deadlock to a 30-23 lead at the intermission.
Ben Syvertson, a 6-2 senior guard, added 13 points for the No. 1-ranked Rockets, who improved to 25-0.
Jacob Van Den Berg, a 6-4 senior forward, scored 13 points to pace Trailways Central rival Christian, which finished its season 16-9.

With the firing of the Boise St head coach, Greg Graham, would there be any chance Ben Mills reopen his recruitment? And is he now a high major talent?
Per Wishoops.net:
"4. Ben Mills, 7-0, Sr., Arrowhead – The number of college coaches who plan to attend the WIAA State Tournament soared over the weekend when it was announced Boise State fired coach Greg Graham. Mills signed a letter of intent to play for Graham and Boise State last November, but Mills may opt out of that commitment in light of the school’s decision to fire Graham. A 7-0 forward who runs the floor and makes mid-range jump shots, Mills leads Arrowhead in scoring at 17.2 ppg. "

Yes, WMLW. There would be a revolt if the WIAA was on Sports 32, shutting out anyone with satellite.

Dorlack = no pulse. Guys who are a legit 6'9" and over will not come here unless they have a growth spurt after signing with us. That's how Joel Cornette got to be that size for Butler. UWM has had tall guys who can play such as Page and Angeli, but they were both closer to 6'7" than their 6'9" listings. That's fine for college ball to be a post player at that height or shorter (Flowers), but the legit size guys who can play are a ways off. Page 1 of this glorious thread...just wanted to point out that Kyle Kelm has a very real pulse... Also, a juco wing and point please?

Maybe you should read the last part of the final sentence I wrote.

Maybe you should read the last part of the final sentence I wrote. The statement was more a compliment towards Kelm...I merely stumbled upon the first page of this thread and found it interesting. Though, maybe you should read the name of this thread. Your comment was in reference to Evan Anderson and the idea that a guy that size in the 2010 class wouldn't commit to Milwaukee.

It took 3 years and a major foot injury to have the high majors back off Kelm. I'm glad he's coming here and hope he meets his seemingly high ability with high production.

I agree with nohops...without that foot injury Kelm would have had high major offers.

Fair enough...I'm just glad he signed with us. This kid is a legit basketball player, and depending who you ask, he's between 6'9" and 6'11". I hope we don't try to bulk him up too much...
