From what i hear Kyle Kelm has a lot of interest in Milwaukee. A commitment may be in the near future!

That would be great news. I hear we are also recruiting a junior college power forward and a point guard for the Class of 2010.

Getting Kelm would be a real solid indication that in state recruiting is getting on the right track.

Both Richard and Kelm played for the Swing Selk team this year. Of Course Rank also played on that team but i would think having Evan in the fold is helping a little with Kelm.

Definitely is intriguing. Maybe another Tillema...seems he would benefit from some strength conditioning and with some solid coaching on working more down low could develop over time into a pretty good Horizon League player. Like his height, agility and shooting ability. The strength can come later. If the staff can develop some toughness and willingness to go underneath who knows?? Hope we get him.

Wow...sounds like he has a lot of potential. But breaking the same foot twice. Wouldn't the odds favor him hurting it again?

Often in the mid major ranks have to take these types of chances on high risk high reward guys with some injury issues that frighten away the big programs. Remember Pearl once saying the mid major ranks was often like the "Island of Broken Toys" and assorted other projects/risks being part of the reality in the Mid Major ranks. If we get medical opinion and it is favorable even if there is risk I say we should go for it.

That's exactly right Steve. Except in very unusual circumstances we can't expect to sign kids who have high major offers. At this level we have to find some guys the high majors will some day wish they had signed, and we have to get guys who are good basketball players but who wouldn't fit in the high majors because they're a little too short, or a little too slow or a little lacking in a certain skill, or just haven't physically developed yet. Then you teach those guys, improve those guys and work around what they might lack, and mold them into a team that can be very competitive at our level. That's how every mid major has to do it.

I wouldn't expect there to be.

Why is that, don't we need one of those point guard thingies that other teams always seem to have?

I wouldn't think the program thinks they're loaded for the next four years at the PG position. If they don't feel McWhorter can play, I hope they're going after guys who they think and, in fact, are better.

"Luke Russell (6-9, BF, Menomonee Falls) and Thomas King (6-6, BF, Milwaukee Madison) are scheduled to visit with Coach Jeter and the men's basketball staff very shortly. Both players are also being given serious consideration for official scholarship offers." Huh? are these guys options still for joining the team this year? do we have scholarships to offer?
