I think we should schedule USD next year so Jake Thomas can come to the Cell and show us why it was a mistake to pass on him

Since when has the UWM basketball program become an elitist program? It's hard for D-2 teams to find places to play. I have no problem giving a D-2 team a chance to play us at home. This is one of the reasons we have a hard time scheduling against high majors, you can hear their fans saying "no more easy win games against the likes of UWM, Loyola, etc..." So this works both ways, how can we expect higher level teams to play us if we are not willing to provide that same opportunity to lower level D-1 and D-2 teams. The big difference is that D2 games don't really count for us, while any high major program could at least get a win if they beat us, so that point holds little water.

The RPI doesn't even count Upper Iowa or SIU-Edwardsville.

I wasn't trying to sound elitist, I just don't think we should play D-II schools in the regular season anymore. Just my humble (not elite) opinion.
I didn't say we deserve to play only Big 10 and Big East teams now.. I totally see your point, but RPI and whether the game counts or not, I just want to get to the point where people look at us and say- look at the Panthers, they really challenged themselves, etc. Know what I mean?

I wish we had high interest in a juco point guard who can contribute immediately in his first season. How could we get someone like that as a hyphen school?

One thing, guys. He's being recruited for the 2009 class. Not 2010.

If we don't get him...I know the player to blame for not getting his interest
Edit: I should point out...nothing happened...I just know who hosted him this weekend.

If it is Nafis Ricks, he's listed as another shooting guard. Is this the true point guard we are looking for?

The player who was with the team last weekend is a point guard who can really play. A pass first point who can also go to the rack and has a sweet touch from the midrange. He would be a great addition to the team and a perfect fit with the players we have coming back. As you would expect with a player that good, we aren't the only team that wants him, so cross your fingers.
On another recruiting note, Tommy Eggleston is one heck of a walk-on. Looking a couple years down the road, he will be in the mix.
