The front page of the J-S reports, very responsibly I might add, reports that Milwaukee and Marquette MAY (not WILL) meet on the court. Then, in keeping with its pattern, the J-S sports department gleefully reports the news as if a deal has been struck (Let's get ready to rumble!, Marquette to face Panthers, Phoenix). There has been nothing signed nor for that matter agreed upon. All too typical. Where's Bobbi? Where's the UWM perspective?

The idea that there has been a deal on the table is just exactly as correect as the notion that I do any work for Marquette.

Does anyone find it odd how absolutely nothing has been reported from either UWM or GB's ppl as far as this is a done deal? nothing from Bobbi, Jeter, Demovsky or the poor man.

I do find it interesting that Crean chose to negotiate through the newspapers and not as such things are normally done. Could it be that UWM and GB are resisting the straight 4-1 idea and he wants to pressure them?
I wonder what the reaction would be if Bud and RJ said that our program deserves more consideration than that. MU is not Duke so it's 3 for 1 or 2 for 1 or no deal

This whole thing was such a sham. And a mockery. Try practicing some real journalism, J-S.

I love this, now you get what you want, and you still whine like little girls! I actually completely agree with this. We b****ed about not having Marquette on our schedule and we get it and whine. Really this is awesome for UWM however it shakes out, we get a worthy opponent, an awesome venue, a huge crowd and huge exposure for the Program. Not many teams in the horizon league get to play a team from the Big East and the Big Ten. Let's stop b****ing and get out their and show them who owns this city. GO PANTHERS!

Now...my .02 on this situation...
I, like many on this board, would like to see the Panthers play MU. I do believe that we deserve more than the 4 for 1 deal that Crean is spewing to the papers about, when he dosen't even know the full-facts of the UWM/UW contract.
I stand with PantherLou in saying that the deal will be different than what has been reported.

If in fact there ever is a deal (and Rob said on the D-list this morning that no deal is imminent), it will be vastly different than what has been reported in the Milwaukee media.

This whole thing was such a sham. And a mockery. Try practicing some real journalism, J-S. The fundamental tenets of journalism are not required when the source of information is Tom Crean. Tom Crean is the single most trustworthy and knowledgeable person on the planet, and there is no reason to waste anyone's time by obtaining a "second source" or anything silly like that when Tom Crean is involved. Duh! /sarcasm off

To recap
Crean uses MU beat writer as a willing tool to try pressure Jeter into making a deal that is in Marquette's best interest. The exact tactics Crean and Marquette fans have been whining about over the last few years.

The exact tactics Crean and Marquette fans have been whining about over the last few years. I think there might be something to that. It's not as though they couldn't interview Rob Jeter - I heard him interviewed on 620 last night for God's sakes. And Rosiak kisses Crean's rear end in much the same fashion Crean kisses Haidet's and Wild's rear ends. I would like for a Gold fan to tell me just why Tom Crean hates Bruce Pearl so much.

Do any of you realize that Todd Rosiak is a UWM alum? Yeah, okay, he's going to coerce his alma mater into a basketball deal with the coach of the team he covers for his job. Yeah, sounds about right. Honestly, I don't think that Crean is his only source. I mean, he writes for the Journal Sentinel, which many of you do not hold their sports section in high regard, but a lot of people around this state and country do. I'm willing to bet there are sources that were unofficial, so they couldn't be quoted in the newspaper or something along those lines.

Chico's.................How about Cal State Fullerton!!! I think they have exceeded mine and your predictions They've met my expectations. This team is practically the same team that won it all two years ago. My son and I went to three games this year including the first round of the NCAAs against SLU. They will go as far as Turner and Dorn take them. Tied right now 5-5 in the 12th. Go Titans!
