The UAB-UWM game will be fun for me. I am a UAB grad but I start UWM grad school this fall.
The only thing that could make it more fun would be getting a seat in the student section. Of course, I will be wearing all my UAB gear. After that game I can be a Panther again. ;D

You might not want to do that. In fact, you really don't want to do that.

Oh trust me, I've been in student sections enough to know better than that.
And nice sig. Is that right after he hit that HR on Mother's Day? My seat is right on the bullpen; that ball hit like 9 seats down from me.

Given ’Holic's latest input, I would tend to say that Creighton's involvement in the John Thomspon Invitational is highly unlikely. Teams are eligible for just one exempt tournament per season. Here's a thought: One MVC school with which Milwaukee and the current coaching staff have definite connections is Illinois St. Porter Moser, the current coach, recruited the "Texas 5" Class of 1997 and Tony Barrone, his assistant, played for Rob and 'Bid' at Marquette.

I can reveal that Radford will be the third team involved in the John Thompson Foundation Challenge. The Panthers will open with Washington State, than play UAB and Radford. The Panthers will play road games against Central Michigan, Oakland (Mich.) and Michigan, with the Bracket Buster also played on the road. Butler will be here New Year's Eve.

A year ago, Radford finished 16-13 and fourth in the Big South Conference (behind Winthrop, Birmingham Southern and Coastal Carolina). Their measured RPI was 193, which fits the 150-200 RPI that was sought by a visiting team.

Well, alive maybe, but you will be ridiculed savagely. Just cheer for us, brother.

Would this tourney be an annual event for UWM or is this a one time deal?

It would appear that this is a one-time thing, though nothing was said officially. I believe that the John Thompson Foundation Challenge will be held at various and alternating sites.

Here's a break down of this season's non-conf. opponents, as posted in the uwmfreak.proboards5.com/index.cgi?board=Games&action=display&n=1&thread=2796 Conference Games thread. I'm not sure if it's accurate that UWM plays Washington St. 11/10, as UAB's board is also saying they play WSU that day... * Home game during Christmas break, Dec 23-Jan 21 (RPI’s courtesy of KenPom.com) 11/10 - Washington State 166 11/11 – Radford 193 11/12 – UAB 32 (NCAA's)11/15 - @ Michigan 47 (NIT Championship Game) 11/19 - @ UNI 25 (NCAA's)11/22 - South Dakota State 276 11/26 - Tennessee Tech 135 11/29 - @ Central Michigan 315 12/2 - @oakland 285 12/6 - @ Missouri State 21 (NIT Quarterfinals) 12/9 - YSU 12/13 - @ Wisconsin 23 (NCAA's)12/22 or 23* - TBA 12/27* - Wyoming 170 12/30* - Butler (NIT) 1/4* - Detroit 1/6 - @ Loyola 1/11 - @ Cleveland State 1/13 - @ YSU 1/18* - UIC 1/20* - WSU 1/25 - @ Detroit 1/27 - UWGB 1/29 - CSU 2/3 - @ Butler 2/5 - @ WSU 2/14 - Loyola 2/17 – ESPN Bracketbuster ? 2/22 - @ UIC 2/24 - @ UWGB Home Non-Conf - (RPI) Team, Conference1. (32) UAB, C-USA 2. (135) Tennessee Tech, OVC 3. (166) Washington State, Pac-10 4. TBA* 5. (170) Wyoming*, Mountain West 6. (193) Radford, Big South 7. (276) South Dakota State, Independent AVG RPI: 162 Road Non-Conf - (RPI) Team, Conference 1. (21) Missouri State, Valley 2. (23) Wisconsin, Big 10 3. (25) UNI, Valley 4. (47) Michigan, Big 10 5. (285) Oakland, Mid-Con 6. (315) Central Michigan, MAC AVG RPI: 119 ESPN BracketBuster: ? My take... At least five and possibly six or even seven Top-50 opponents (depending on ESPN BB & TBA opponents) out of the 14 OOC games... wow! Quite a rough road for a young team. If they can win the easier ones, and steal a couple of the Top 50 games, they'll have one heck of a non-conf RPI and resume. EDIT: Added opponents postseason finishes.

Those RPI's are based on last season. They will likely be much different this year. I don't think there's any way NIU and Mo St remain as high as they finished last year. And Wisconsin should be much, much higher (top 10 likely). These are just a few examples.
Hopefully, we have about 10-12 games against top 100, with 5 or so of those against top 50. That would end up as a quality schedule, IMHO.

The TBA game will be a road game. But I do expect it to be against a quality opponent.

Those RPI's are based on last season. Really? I thought they were based on this season... They will likely be much different this year. You mean they actually change??!?!?! Just messing 97 And I was afraid that the TBA would be a road game. Call it wishful thinking, putting it in with the home games just cause there wasn't a @ in front of it. Oh well, either the program's gonna bank some serious $$$ for all these possible buy games, or we'll be seeing some BC$ conference opponents in the Cell sometime soon.
